Starstreak/LMM was a back channel deal done for political reasons. It was signed around the same time as the India-UK FTA and that too without field trials.
If it really had a requirement for a LBRM, the IA could have easily chosen the RBS-70NG instead which had competed in successive VSHORADS tenders.
There could be more surprises in store with the India US interim trade deal which is around the corner. And I'm not just talking about the Javelin here.

I think both A2A and S2A missiles got tested, astra mk2 and kusha m1/m2 interceptors
LC-3 is also a launch site for BMD targets. Been a while since one of those

On a serious note, I don’t really see the point of bringing up why a textile company decided to expand into the defence sector six years ago. It’s not unusual at all for companies from completely unrelated industries to diversify and enter new sectors. There are multiple examples of this out there. It doesn't add anything significant to the discourse.
