How will FRCV achieve over 1000mm using tungsten ? Longer rod ?
Typically a larger autoloader along with longer rod will be required. Only Armata has a 1000mm rha apfsds with the vacuum 1. The m829 A3/E4/a4 and DM-83 are in the 750-900+ mm rha domain. Chinese apfsds are in the 800mm

He's talking about APFSDS penetration. The Mango and Mango 2 rounds on T-90 provide up to 550 mm DoP. Western shells go up to 800 mm using tungsten. The latest American and Russian shells now exceed 1000 m using DU.

Arjun's shells used to do 370 mm and have now been upgraded to 600-650 mm.

Russian T-90s with a new autoloader design can manage new longer rod Lekalo shells with DoP of 650 mm and Svinets can do up to 750 mm.

So the goal of FRCV is to achieve Western standards using tungsten.

No, he was in fact talking about armour stuff. You can watch the whole thing here.

Yeah, he says armor and is generally speaking about it, but he switches to speaking about FSAPDS penetration and how the armor needs protection from these new shells.

He's essentially saying, "Previous armor was designed for protection up to 500-550 mm (ie, the current Pakistan and Chinese shell standards), and new armor will see protection against 800 mm shells (future Pakistani and Chinese standards).

But the actual tank armor itself will have far more protection, ie, 1000+ mm or even 1200-1300 mm level protection for the capsule.

So the numbers he used were specifically about the shells themselves.
