Afghan-Pakistan conflict (Feb 2026): News & Updates

I know.
But its a ladder,
openly Inviting taliban's FM to officially reset ties, while they are still sanctioned and scorned, its not sometime west will tolerate willingly, GOI did that because it beleived, picking a fight with us for this is not worth it for other countries, leave us alone.

I do not see, us supporting Afghanistan against Pakistan with weapons as something that any friendlies would SERIOUSLY pick a fight over, some concern will be expressed.

Its a few words that trump said, just words for now, there's no movement at all.

We are already defying them by buying russia's oil, the same country against which U.S. is supplying weapons to Ukraine for.
They did far worse, dirty tactics, trade pressure etc, nothing worked.

Loan.

In the 2026–27 Union Budget, India increased its development assistance to Afghanistan to ₹150 crore (approx. $16 million.
Afghanistan is actively encouraging Indian investments by offering 5-year tax breaks, free land for investors, and reduced import duties on machinery, particularly in sectors like mining, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, and textiles.

India expressed readiness to resume stalled infrastructure projects, specifically focusing on hydroelectric facilities.

Discussions are active on reopening the India-Afghanistan Air Freight Corridor and utilizing the Chabahar Port in Iran to bypass Pakistan for direct trade.

As of February 2026, India is recalibrating its mining strategy in Afghanistan, shifting from a "wait-and-watch" approach to a more proactive, though cautious, engagement with the Taliban-led administration. The focus is on securing critical minerals like lithium and reviving long-stalled projects like the Hajigak iron ore

But they sure help, along with all the other things.

Not limited to just them.

What big ticket items?
Rocket artillary? Short range sam? , drones? VSHORAD? Small arms?

All fit inside cargo bays of our large transports.

Huh?

Eh? We eh, don't expect taliban to run over Pakistan at all, mostly will be in border regions or Pakistan making regional shallow advance in Afghanistan, , suicide bombing by Afghans.
GoI's policy if it actually intends to aid Afghanistan in its war against Paxtan would be to fund them covertly . They can get all the arms they desire from the international arms bazaar . I believe we're already funding them to an extent.

How else do you think anti Indian terrorists are being taken down one after the other over a period of 3-4 years ?

For the world's consumption we're extending nothing but humanitarian aid & helping build infrastructure projects in Afghanistan apart from admitting their armed forces personnel for training purposes , awarding scholarships to their students , training their bureaucracy , extending medical aid , trading , etc .

1. Anonymous summed it up well. The main point of contention with your take is the very overt nature of things. Delivering Air defense? High end drones? Artillery. All which when used can be traced back to the developer. Given the rarity of an indian system deployed outside india. It's a whole fkimg different game. Let's clear our garden first before delivering lawnmower to the park. That too shall come with time. Bide your time.

2. Huh? :- The medicines, food supplies, financial aid.. they are as important as a bag of grenades when two countries fight. I believe I mentioned about the whole black weapon, drug, slave market thing.. How GOI can facilitate is by providing contacts, funds, intel, maybe send some deobandi from here( jk) etc etc... away from public galore. That presumably has been worked out for years now.

3. You can have a big beautiful relationship with Taiwan but the moment you supply them weapons ( on loans!).. the equation changes.

4. This is just the beginning. Munir probably at the end of his ropes and going for it to save his image infront of Pakistanis and his position within pak establishment. But the chicken will come home to roost. He knows it too. If current tempo of Airstrikes detered Taliban.. US would've made a quick work of them decades ago.

Finally, at its core it's the clash of ideologies and interests. PA isn't the sole authority, even within Pakistan anymore.
The tempting idea of killing a terrorist with help of our own terrorists and nurturing more in backyard is nothing but an illusion. That Pakistan have been consciously living in after the Zia guy. Airstrike Kabul Taliban, TTP with full force.. let, jem will start having apphrensions about it. And definitely a whole host of other complex equation being built as we speak. But just from the little we know+ opinion & discussion is all we can do.

Yes.

Drones,rockets artillery, howitzers,mortars, old tanks,small arms including RPG's.
I meant the video. If its edited/old or genuine footage.

Any idea of the areas targeted by these drone strikes? The precision seems decent and no C-UAS in sight 🤔. If they lob couple hundreds of these, it would be a statement.

Pak doesn't care about any area other than its panjab province, does it?

Seems genuine so far. I have tried my best to avoid AI edited videos/pics or pics that have been geolocated to other regions. Don't have border area wise data (distribution) for these. If I find it, will post it.
