The Indian Army’s Artillery arm played a major role in hitting terror targets in Pakistan and PoK under the Operation Sindoor jointly executed by the Air Force and the Army.

Of the nine terror targets, seven were destroyed by the Army, sources involved in the operation said.

“The Artillery guns were put to a precise and optimal use in destroying the seven identified terrorist camps in the PoK,” a source said.

“The Army had deployed Bofors, M777 and Soltam guns for maximum effect and every target was pulverised the way we had planned,” added the source. Another source said, “The ongoing modernisation, including the induction of drones, new ammunition and the guns improved indigenously, added to our target destruction”.

According to the CBI, the bearings were supplied to the Gun Carriage Factory (GCF) in Jabalpur, despite internal quality control tests indicating serious dimensional flaws. The CBI is also reportedly probing unidentified officials of the GCF for alleged criminal conspiracy, forgery, and cheating in connection with the supply chain deception. The counterfeit parts originated from Sino United Industries (Luyang) Ltd., Henan, China, while the forged documents bore the name of a reputed German firm, CRB.

Meanwhile, former Minister of State for Defence Subhash Bhamre has said that bearings meant for Dhanush guns were to be sourced from CRB, Germany, as per the purchase order. A preliminary investigation by the Defence Ministry revealed that Sidh Sales Syndicate, Delhi, supplied Chinese-manufactured bearings instead of German-made ones. This incident led to the Ordnance Factory Board referring the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for a thorough investigation into the alleged violation of the purchase order.

It is going from bad to worse. They can forget about follow-on orders now.

The German MGS 💀💀💀. Superior in almost every way.

The German MGS 💀💀💀. Superior in almost every way.
No, with *same rounds*, our mgs gives somewhat longer range.

Also german one's weight is above the threshold set by Indian army.

(This along with german one being 7-8 times more expensive per unit, our is lot better for bang for buck).

For our needs, Drdo mgs is better than german one.

German One provides:-
+ faster firing rate
+ faster shoot scoot capabilities
+ ability to quickly fire entire magzine if need arise ( generally not required)
+ lower crew requirements

But german one also has:-
+more complexity
+ higher weight
+lot more expensive
