If i am not wrong HAL had started an inhouse ejection seat design already. God knows what will be the fate of our fighter pilots.
Do not compromise on safety to satisfy your so called " indigenous " ego. Ejection seat is the last hope for a pilot flying in a 40-50 year old aircraft.

Frankly given the state of the crash site it'd be a miracle if anyone survived & in a way good if no one did .
Yeah highly unlikely he's gonna survive given most reports are stating he suffered 80% burns...looks like Mrs.Rawat didn't survive
Even if he survives, it is highly unlikely he will be able to continue his charge. He will need a very long time of covalesence -- that is if he survives.
Most probably. Russian engines are unreliable and maintenance in the IAF is always questionable. This is a huge blunder. But last three months have been not so good for India in general.
Russia and flying does not mix well together. They should take all these russian junk helicopters and fighters and put them in a metal crusher and float new tenders... with Russia excluded.
