Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning and F-22 'Raptor' : News & Discussion

F-15EX didn't exist yet you dope and an F-15E wit a combat load is very draggy with bombs, tanks and pods
hanging F-15E uses a lot of fuel to carry such load. Put on your listening ears to what this USAF pilot says.

I see you have no retort to SAFRAN's claim? Face it the Rafail is too heavy for its current engines that were upgraded in 2010-2012.
A USAF pilot say what its HQ want him to say.

USAF received its first F15EX in march.... /// Défense : l'US Air Force reçoit son 1er Boeing F-15EX

Have a nice rest, you need it.

Why are you still misspelling the RAFALE ?
We don't see anyone saying F-thirty-Fail, don't we ?
Who the F cares. When the time will come, Americans will run away using Fk 35 or whatever bleeding edge “Run for your life” jets they will have.
They are running away since centuries, from Vietnam, Korea, Cambodia, Ukrain,Syria, Libya, Iran, Iraq now Afghanistan and in near future from Taiwan(ROC) and Japan .
Look how beautifully they are using C17, and Apache gunship to kill unarmed civilians on Kabul airport.

They are now experts of lighting a fire and then running away. So at max this super stealthy plane will be used to drop bombs on some hospitals in Iraq or Libya and nothing more.

This is how dumb you are... you're implying he's lying but if that were the case other nations would be buying
the Rafail and not F-35 but that is not the case, is it cup cake? What will your excuse be when the Rafail fails in
Finland and a similar report like Switzerland comes out saying the F-35 is cheaper and SUPERIOR than Rafail? :sneaky:

The interview of the article I posted was in 2012 from Air Force Magazine.

Hope you have your psychiatrist on call when Finland rejects the Rafail you're going to need him/her ready for you.

The service has for years advocated for recapitalising its fleet with stealth aircraft, in particular the Lockheed F-35. However, in 2020 it deviated from that stealth aircraft buying plan and began purchasing the Boeing F-15EX to replace ageing F-15Cs. @WHOHE

Both cases. Radar upgrades took priority.
But also because none of them required uprated engines.
It's always usefull to have some more thrust, but when you always are able to supercruise, it s more than enough. For the flying brick non able to supercruise despite huge engine, it's another history of course ;)

His line of argument would be

* The blog is of low repute . It can claim anything it wants.

* The USAF initiates dozens of studies each year. This study itself is of little to no consequence.

OTOH , all the references he provides are worth it's weight in gold apart from being original , absolutely genuine & irrefutable like the Gospel. What's missing is his pronouncing Hallelujah after quoting it .

Oh noes USAF is doing another study of should, could and possibly!!! This story sure got old quick with with a statement made by Brown. Funny thing it had nothing to do with the F-35 but the lack of new fighters USAF wanted per year.

As for the F-15EX... This is the last time I'm going to do this many in here have been educated about why the F-15EX came to be it seems you're the only one that didn't get the memo which is typical of Rafail fanboys such as yourself. Now pay attention Le Ribbit...

USAF didn't want the F-15EX it was forced on them by politicians thanks to Boeing special interest. At that time SecDef was a former Boeing CEO and hated the F-35 which is understandable when you have millions of shares in Boeing. F-15c was supposed to get upgraded and overhauled making it last pass 2030s but that was canceled purposely and now they aren't going to last pass mid 2020's. Boeing also had a HUGE problem and that is the fighter business is coming to an end for them with the F-18 line closing and F-15. How convenient to cancel the F-15c upgrade and recommend a new F-15 that the USAF wasn't asking for, huh? So now jobs won't be lost hurting politicians in those states where Boeing produces fighters.

The US Air Force doesn’t want F-15X. But it needs more fighter jets.

-ORLANDO, Fla. — The U.S. Air Force wants more fighters. But it didn’t necessarily want the F-15X, and it didn’t intend to buy any in the upcoming fiscal 2020 budget, its top two leaders confirmed Thursday.
“Our budget proposal that we initially submitted did not include additional fourth-generation aircraft,” Air Force Secretary Heather Wilson told reporters during a Feb. 28 roundtable at the Air Force Association’s Air Warfare Symposium.
Wilson’s comments confirm reporting by Defense News and other outlets who have reported that the decision to buy new F-15X aircraft was essentially forced upon the Air Force. According to sources, the Pentagon’s Cost Assessment and Program Evaluation Office was a key backer of the F-15X and was able to garner the support of the Office of the Secretary of Defense.

Asked by one reporter, point blank, whether the Air Force wanted new F-15s, Wilson and Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Dave Goldfein danced around the question.

“We want to buy new airplanes,” Goldfein said.
“We want to buy 72 aircraft a year,” Wilson added.

Additionally, when Bloomberg broke the news that the Air Force would buy new F-15Xs in December, it reported that the decision was pushed by then-Deputy Defense Secretary Patrick Shanahan, a former Boeing executive who has since become acting defense secretary. Shanahan’s spokesman has rebutted those reports, stating that “any DoD programmatic decisions impacting Boeing were neither made nor influenced by Mr. Shanahan.”

You get it now cupcake? Let it sink in that tiny head of yours. The F-35 is the cornerstone of the USAF and it will kick the cul of your Rafail soon in Finland. So prepare your butt for major hurting... but then again your butt is used to hurting at the hands of the F-35, huh? :)

You oppose an article from 28 February 2019 to an article from 18 February 2021! But of course it is the other way round, your article has no value since a more recent article has been published which says the opposite.

The F-35 can supercruise at M1.2 though and it's usually clean to do so. It already operates a good AESA too.
They're in training for Ninja Warrior clearly.

It can "supercruise" (*) only in a slight descent, this is why the so called supercruise is limited in range.
Good AESA : I hope so. It is big, that's sure. Thanks to the AESA mastery of USA I hope it is good.

(*) LM supercruise definition is : > mach 1.4 , and not in descent ;)

I think you will see in the very near future.
Yes you're just waiting for that day so that you can go back spewing your BS without being challenged with facts. It must suck having someone always correct you about your little planes inferiority when it comes to the F-35.

Listen you can live in a world of delusion at airdefense. net where all Rafail fanboys can live in harmony without anyone ruining their delusion that their plane is inferior to F-35. ;)
