Истребитель Rafale вывел из строя радар российского Су-35

Fighter Rafale disabled the radar of the Russian Su-35

The radar of the Russian Su-35 was disabled by a powerful electronic warfare system.

The invulnerability of the Russian Su-35 fighter was called into question after it became known that in a training battle, the Egyptian Air Force Rafale fighter, as a result of the use of an electronic suppression complex, was able to disable the radar station of the Russian combat aircraft, in fact, blinding it. As a result, the training battle was lost by the Su-35 fighter.

“During the training battles, the Su-35 tried to attack the Rafale, playing the role of the“ aggressor ”. With the help of the Thales Spectra system of protection and prevention of enemy fire control (electronic warfare equipment - electronic warfare), the French fighter still managed to drown out the phased antenna array (PAR) of the Su-35 radar. After disabling it, the Russian fighter was unable to aim the weapon at the enemy and was easily knocked out by Rafal , ”the Moskovsky Komsomolets newspaper reports.

A little earlier, the news agency Avia.pro reported that, as part of a training battle, the Russian Su-35 fighter lost to the French Rafale fighter, although it was in the attack, which caused a number of doubts about the effectiveness of this combat aircraft.
Exactly how many series of training battles were fought between the Su-35 and Rafale fighters is still unknown.

Is it a message for China?
Don’t think so. Although they use lots of Russian platforms but with their own AESA Radar, EWS, Sensor package, longer range and more advanced BVRAAM with AESA seeker etc. Only Su57 can be said to be better than what the Chinese have been using since almost a decade.

I guess , A SU 35 will have to Climb to its Maximum Altitude to Get into a
Look First - Shoot First Situation

By the Way Russia also makes Big Jammers ,like SAP 518

They can also Nullify some of the Advantages of SPECTRA

How will that help though? The Russians will lose marketshare elsewhere, and the Chinese won't buy any more Russian jets anyway.

You climb high in contested airspace and become a target practice for enemy SAMs

The First step obviously is a barrage by Cruise Missiles and Anti Radiation missiles on Enemy SAMs before Fighters approach enemy Air Space

Any way the larger point for India is How our SAP 518 and SAP 14 jammers onboard the SU 30 MKI perform against RAFALE

No, not smart enough
Look first against a Rafale? 😂 With the difference that there is in RCS !!!

A message to China? Hey we can beat up on that aircraft that you guys bought only 24 copies of simply because you wanted to copy/study the engine?

The Su-35 is below the typhoon, F-15, F-16 V, SH18 and Rafale by a lot, no doubt. The threat from China however is the J-20.

India is not US. You don’t have that much assets to rain on enemy SAM sites. At most you can punch a hole in some place and sneak in.

It’s irrelevant in India’s case. They aren’t going to fight each other . More pertinent question is how is they gonna complement each other in a mixed formation of a half dozen of rafale carrying weapons load escorted by Upgraded Su30 carrying powerful jamming pods

You are really underestimating the j16 if you think the only threat from China is the j-20.
The su 35 might be out dated but the j16 is on par with most western 4.5 gen fighters except maybe the Rafale and sh blk 3..

The most common number I've heard for stealthy 4+ gen planes passively is 1m RCS.

However, there's no way that is reality once you add on missiles and pods.

That's true. I do believe the J-20 is the headliner threat though. J-20's should outnumber the J-16 pretty soon.

J 20 will be used the same way the Americans use f22.
Like a long range sniper.
The j-20 are around 40-60 numbers in the plaaf while the j16 are at 126 and growing. Also they are upgrading their j11 with newer avionics and adding aesa radars on them.. So atleast 300 aesa capable flankers alone including the su35 might be a problem..
