Lockdown is a sledgehammer, it smashes everything. Businesses, jobs everything. You need a whip. To keep ignorant masses in control. That what china does best.

All of these are rationing. We should have not let shortage happen in the first place. Money should have been pumped in mid 2020 to make massive number of doses possible.

It will come in control. Vaccines will bring it in control. This Pandemic has pushed many long pending vaccine technologies into front. There are already vaccines updates.

Rest assured, covid vaccine is a hot commodity right now. They will make it. Not making it is leaving money on table. No one does that.

Its essentially India's answer to Novavax vaccine.

Think about : India has ALL kinds of platforms for covid vaccines :

1. Classic incompetent virus platform - ICMR/Bharat Biotech
2. DNA Plasmid platform - Zydus Cadilla
3. ( Licensed ) Vector Virus platform - SII, Reddy's Lab
4. Protein Sub unit - Bio E and Licensed Novavax
5. mRNA Platform - I don't remember which one but there is one :)

3 of these are about to complete all trials or have completed all trials. BB, ZC, SII.

I don't know any other country that has so much variety in so many platforms available. May be USA?

Its DRDO and Indian Army all over again. We have a lot of research but production is insufficient for our needs. Someone in government SHOULD have paid attention to production aspect of vaccine supply chain.

No. It is nothing to do with politics. Its a brand new technology. Besides, land below them have changed. When they started it was purely Chinese Version of the virus. Now there are so many variants. I am sure their vaccine is having more challenge than say Pfizer's or Moderna's.
