UT is fast asleep at the wheel. They're more interested in how to make money. Lock down implementation is lax & more due to the ppl by & large co operating with no provisions to deal with recalcitrants. SRP was supposed to be deployed in hot spots to ensure greater compliance. It should've been done long ago especially in slum / chawl clusters like Dharavi. No news if it's been done. I've zero confidence in this administration's will or abilities.I have lived in Mumbai -- M East ward for 25 years ,before moving to Navi Mumbai
I am very sad to see Mumbai's Condition
Me too, especially suburban areas. Don't have much options in very near future though. Navi Mumbai is no-go for me personally as both my & my wife's family are currently living just at each end of sea-link, so easier to connect during urgency.I have lived in Mumbai -- M East ward for 25 years ,before moving to Navi Mumbai

Near Kherwadi junction, Nimal Nagar Police station.Where exactly in H / east ? West Avenue Santa Cruz West here.

Lock down & effective sealing of all the lanes / gullies of slum areas 24x7. Create self awareness programs, utilise mohalla committees, NGO's, recruit volunteers from the local population to disperse essential items, for Emergencies, etc. It's difficult not impossible. Else one has to be prepared for recurring multiple cases with catastrophic results. How can you achieve Social distancing with such dense population
Only those who have lived and travelled in Mumbai will know the density of population
And the slums are a hopeless case
Kerala has done remarkably well. 7-10 days ago they were just behind Maharashtra in terms of infected cases. Today they've registered a fall. Whatever ones misgivings with the qaumrades, they've done a commendable job.
That's actually not bad, it was doubling every 3 days here at one point, now 6 or 7 days.
What's apparent is that its difficult for Governments in individualistic cultures like UK and US, to enforce brutal lockdowns early on. That's led to many deaths in the UK and US..That's actually not bad, it was doubling every 3 days here at one point, now 6 or 7 days.
Man what's wrong with you and that Bali guy? Why do you want me to speak only what you like? Whenever I question government why you guys get your panties in twist? What do you want from me, to keep praising them? If you are so touchy please join whatsapp group debates.
I should not point to mistakes being made for what? To please you? Is there any shortage of slaves on either side of aisle that you want everyone else to stop talking?
Without knowing anything about me you start accusing me of hate and what not. This virus will impact me and you and everyone else, irrespective of how much you praised or criticized government. I can't understand this obsessiveness to defend everything government does by hook or by crook.
Hahahaha. Whatsapp forward? Sure, please point one.Your criticism mostly is straight out of some whatsapp forwards thats why it needs some response .

China is stressed with demand, even when every country is vocal against China they are still placing orders with China. This high demand will obviously impact quality and fraudsters too will try to take advantage by sending wastage and whatever they could find.
When Indian pharma was booming years back some fraudsters started shipping fake medicines. This started to happen at major level and India's image started to go down. Government then put strict regulations including bar coding of every pack, which helped in maintaining quality.
In this unprecedented stressed crisis faulty equipment is expected, part of business. West is out right stealing, impounding medical supplies meant for other countries is not ethical either.
Not defending China, they must pay dearly for underreporting cases, lying to world and putting lives of millions at danger.
The really dumb thing was supermarkets having a dedicated shopping hour for NHS staff and the elderly, putting those most likely to contract the virus and those most likely to die from it together in one room. What's apparent is that its difficult for Governments in individualistic cultures like UK and US, to enforce brutal lockdowns early on. That's led to many deaths in the UK and US..

so dont defend them by blaming some fraudsters
That is 2009, the same time I was talking about. India took the steps and this was stored out. Won't be surprised if you got the idea of fake drugs from my post, googled it and without reading the article you posted link again like you did last time.
