USA & Canada : News, Updates & Discussions

Oh golly ! Where's sweetie when sweetie's needed the most. The last time this topic popped up , sweetie defended being kidnapped & probed by aliens. As a reward sweetie received baby milk powder to snort.

It's another matter those aliens looked suspiciously like Pablitos from across the border & spoke a language resembling Espanyol.

Caramba !

Thank you for your attention to the matter , sweetie ! @Innominate

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney is set to tour India next month as global trade uncertainties continue to impact economic relations. The visit aims to strengthen India-Canada ties and explore opportunities for collaboration in finance, investment, and trade.

U.S. President Donald Trump spoke about the war with Iran at an economic conference in Florida organized by Saudi businesspeople, and stumbled over his words when he called on Iran to "open the Trump Straits. Sorry, the Strait of Hormuz." He then addressed the Saudis in the audience: "Can you please come back to the Abraham Accords? Now is the time! The Middle East will change, and the future of this region has never looked so promising. I hope you are about to join. Now we've taken them out (Iran), they're out of the game and in a big way. I think all Middle Eastern countries will join now, and I would say all Middle Eastern countries and even beyond that. You'll see soon."

Akhand Amrika.

Guess Washington has assessed a multipolar world is inevitable & is trying to use its still remaining dominance to carve out its share of the world early on/its backyard early on.

I'm thinking in future U.S. Will also abandon Taiwan, though will U.S. Still continue to provide security to Japan,SK remains to be seen, as a even more powerful China of the future would view this as transgression of its backyard by a rival power.

Japan SK will build their own industries and SK will get nooks if China pushes them too hard. I wonder how Chinese will deal with us if Amrika retreats from Asia.

US President Donald Trump has removed Attorney General Pam Bondi - a longtime ally and fierce defender of his administration - from her post as America's top law enforcement officer.

Trump praised her in a post on Truth Social and said she would be "transitioning" to a role in the private sector.

Bondi's time leading the justice department was often overshadowed by its handling of the release of files relating to Jeffrey Epstein and its investigation into the convicted sex offender.

She is the second Trump administration official in recent weeks to be cut from her post, after Kristi Noem was ousted as homeland security chief in March. Bondi will be replaced by her former deputy, Todd Blanche.

The national average is now $4.40 per gallon, while the average cost of diesel is up nearly $2, leaving families and businesses struggling to keep up with costs.

Gasoline prices have jumped sharply since the war began, snarling tanker traffic in the Strait of Hormuz, a vital corridor for energy shipments. The average price of regular gas is $4.50 a gallon, according to AAA. That's up 38 cents from a month ago. The jump in energy prices accounted for 40% of the monthly increase in the consumer price index in April. Housing costs were also a driver of inflation, jumping 0.6% between March and April, but some of that is a statistical fluke resulting from the six-week government shutdown last fall. Government number crunchers were temporarily idled in October, so were unable to collect housing prices that month. That's had the effect of artificially lowering the measure of housing inflation. Tuesday's report provides a kind of catch-up.
