American Rheinmetall Vehicles and General Dynamics Land Systems will continue on in the U.S. Army’s pursuit of an Optionally Manned Fighting Vehicle to replace the Bradley infantry fighting vehicle, the Army said Monday.

The service has renamed the envisioned platform the XM30 Mechanized Infantry Combat Vehicle.

"Deep Fires Rocket Systems: A single platform with multiple effectors, capable of independent precision targeting of threats out to 150km. Dstl is working with industry to develop a missile to engage high value, time sensitive moving targets (Land Precision Strike) and a dispensing rocket payload that provides target acquisition, kinetic and non-kinetic effect against multiple dispersed targets (long range area effect)."

LPS we've seen already. The Dispensing Rocket Payload is GMLRS-ER with Outrider UAS and a new FFLMM, a development of the Fury munition that uses LMM components. This could mean the arrival of Thales lo-cost seeker head for the FFLMM and by default LMM...

Outrider UAS

Outrider has been around for a while. It was developed by Lockheed Martin UK and is ITAR free. Believe it is the ex Insyte/Hunting Engineering that developed it.



New FFLMM - Development of Fury/FFLMM - Marketed in the US by Textron as Fury
 
Footage of the incident of the Russian Su-35S aircraft and the US MQ-9 Reaper UAV in Syria. The US Air Force released footage of the July 5 incident involving a Russian Su-35S fighter jet and an American MQ-9 Reaper UAV in Syria. According to the US Air Force, the Russian fighter actively maneuvered near the UAV, including the afterburner, used heat traps to change the flight of the US drone. According to Russian media reports, the US MQ-9 Reaper UAV entered the closed area where the Russian-Syrian exercises were held, the Su-35 fighter did not use airborne weapons.

 

The ground-launched Long-Range Hypersonic Weapon has a 1,750-mile range and can exceed 3,800 mph, according to a March 2023 Congressional Research Service brief. The weapon consists of a missile and glide body designed to travel at the outer edge of the atmosphere beyond the range of air and missile defense systems, according to the brief.
