Maybe so, but it wasn't necessary. Foreign powers would have funded more advanced replacement jets. Let them stick with their 100% obsolete air force and continue to pay for it. We hit everything else that mattered.

Anyway, let's not bring India into this.

The entire sequence of attacks by Israel using covert and overt means has been interesting to see. It is clear now that it is an ongoing operation that apparently seems to have fluid objectives and what appears to be no fixed deadline. The usage of precision munitions and loitering drones has once again shined. Israels' covert abilities are once again in the limelight. Many lessons to be learnt. I am sure the interested parties in the region are watching.

Their AD wasn't that good in the first place. I had pointed out to our Chinese friend years ago when he overestimated Iranian air defenses in Syria (and Iran). He had bragged about how new Chinese radars in Syrian and Iranian hands are superior to Russian ones. Ah, well...

Plus, without fighters, you can't protect your airspace with AD alone too. So that's another problem.

Iran's overall military tech base is piss-poor. Everything they have is pretty much turkey shoot, as demonstrated by Israel.

They had S-300PMU2 which is the latest they also have their own modern indigenous version of s300.

People do not talk about this enough. Iranian Air Force might as well go back to the previous century to be honest. It has been a non factor for a while.

Yep, I agree. Houthis' have also been attempting to target Tel Aviv. Out of 100 to 150, even if 5 got through that's still a good intercept rate. Second wave coming from Iran soon.
