What about our S-400s though? The Turks are getting back into the F-35 program only after promising to give up/deactivate their systems.

I can't see India agreeing to anything close. Hope we don't end up with another 'Neptune' vs full-spec Poseidon.

The Americans want India to make the request. Then someone somewhere will reject it, and that will make the Rafale look bad.

But before India has to purchase 100+ F16, all built in America.... And after that we will see.....
 
To be fair, we might have replaced those Chinese components with Western (mainly French) ones but the sanctions on Russia preclude that possibility. Putin has pissed off Macron too many times in the recent past. There was a time when France almost sold a Mistral class amphib to Russia.

It's nonsense.

Russia is not in a position to side with China in a conflict with India. Why do people even in the military think of the world as black and white? Maybe there's an agenda.

F 35 is the way forward.....it represents the future of air domination in South Asian context , offering unmatched capabilities that set it apart from all other fighter jets. In contrast, Russia should focus on fully inducting the Su-57 into its own forces before attempting to export it, especially given concerns about its current performance and capabilities. Rather than acquiring the Su-57 in its entirety, it would be more beneficial to obtain its new engine technology to enhance the performance of existing Su-30 fleets.
