T-90 Bhishma / T-72 Ajeya of Indian Army : News and Discussions

Side profile of every modern tank is easy. And in every non conventional conflict tanks will go down.

But when we talk about India Pak conventional war, I think that T90 has good enough frontal armour to stop the 1st hit. That is important. To survive the first hit.

And apart from their strike corps they don't really have very good tanks.

PA could buy the HJ-12 or OMTAS and gain some temporary advantage.

High doubt that will equalize our position. We have options for spike nlos, hellfire and SANT which all outrange the. Hj-12 and omtas by a considerable margin.

It doesn't matter what missiles we have. Most of our armour based on T tanks and BMPs will be vulnerable to HJ-12 and OMTAS until FICV and FRCV start delivering who knows when.

To be fair even abrams and challengers will be vulnerable to the hj-12 only a solid AD and EW can avoid destruction of your armour. The use of tanks in combined arms is now a necessity not a tactic. You will need plenty of short range ad area denial and ew to protect your armour component.

The IA is pushing for an APS for the T-90 though.

When successful, our old Russian T-series can also get upgraded with APS.
