Project Kusha / Programme LRSAM / PGLRSAM

Maybe all 3 missiles have the same KV but not the same rocket motor. Maybe the rocket motor of M1 is bigger than the 2nd stage motor of the M2 & M3.

When the VLS / canister design for all 3 comes out we will probably know. HEMRL is testing hybrid motors , can that work as a booster stage ? ASL work previously stated there is need for higher thrust more powerful qualified booster stages. The M3 booster as shown its shape is different, not usual uniform cylindrical stage. Perhaps they are finally moving towards conical motor casing ?

Been thinking about the same thing. Maybe the range is misquoted as altitude.

Or maybe the missiles shown in this pic are actually to scale:

Sometime back there were rumours that M3 uses a brand new missile.

Seems the design, proto hardware & production related documentation work for various warheads of Kusha is about to begin + ongoing. This suggests a much advanced stage of development as usually this work began at a little later phase.

Also warhead for the other projects esp the PGAD , AD AH and ASAM (maybe meant AD-AM) etc are in the job work. It seems the fuzing, safety arming etc very critical items are to be done by ARDE.

It's hard to believe the same kill vehicle claims. Performance requirements are very broad.

This is the old configuration of M1, M2 and M3.

Isn’t AD AH meant for hit to kill destruction of HGV? Then warhead won’t be required.

What is AD AM? Air defence anti missile? A generalised multi purpose cheap missile defence interceptor missile?

We do not know yet. But if we go by counter of adversary capability then those are for anti hgv and anti mirv roles. Both were hinted at by VKS but significant challenges remain in terms of design, guidance mechanism.

AD-AM is an interceptor missile, part of our BMD Phase III, to counter hypersonic cruise missiles(which are considered the toughest to intercept because of terrain hugging high-supersonic/low-hypersoinc flight-profile).

HCM won't be a terrain hugging missile at all. Almost all countries products will fly in altitude that is twice than that of Brahmos.

I think since PGAD so it is aimed at big picture, and might be this mkv related

Sir by when do you think we can expect test for AD AH? And what is PGAD? I have never heard of it.
