Pakistan Armed Forces - News & Discussions

For spares?
The single aircraft spotted has been painted. And LM still provides service extension for the H version. So this one will be in service.

The twitter account talks about requirements of around 7-8 airframes. Belgium had 10 H and 1 E variant when it retired them by 2020-21.

Pakistan has around 16-18.
Netherlands has been working to supply two retired Minesweepers to PN too.

These aircraft can be stretched to the limit like the B-52. PAF could get 10 more years out of them. Perhaps more.

The most extensive overhaul package by LM costing around 18-20 million USD gives 30 years. They will replace the major portions of wings, engines, blades, overhaul the cockpit and repair the main airframe.

But given the age, I think at maximum maybe 15 years. 20 years at Max.
B52s don't clock high hours. C130s do. So will be difficult to keep flying. But then again they are still flying Mirage III/V beyond the OEM flight hours.

US is very much willing to sell anything to Pakistan (including things they won't offer to India) , till Pakistan can pay for it. If tomorrow, PAF has 25 billion USD, USA will be selling them F35A.
Doubt it. They withheld F-16s not long ago. Even the post above says there's a ban on AH-1Zs and Hellfires. I can't see how that leads you to believe they will sell F-35As.

USA withheld any equipment for which Pakistan wanted USA to pay through CSF. In both case F16s and AH1Z, USA had asked Pakistan to pay through its own resources. Failure of Pakistan to do so then, resulted in cancellation of the deal.

If they can pay for it sometime in future, USA will sell.
