Let them settle down on border and than we will do our counter deployment andwe will have their war plans also with us thru the Pak Generals willing to cut a deal with us. But for Chatrapati Shahu Maharaj's express orders , the Marathas under Peshwa Baji Rao would've demolished his Nizamate - yet another example of silly sentimentality on our part of not exercising the killer blow when the enemy was down , a decision which came back to haunt the Marathas later on , much after all the aforementioned actors were long gone .

What were we discussing here ? The battle of Palkhed ? it's aftermath ? or its casualties ? By that token in 1971 we lost less than 2000 men & Paxtan ~ 6000 . Hence it was no consequence.

We were very near to Kashmir when 8 was in school. Just an 8000 foot tall mountain between us and Muzaffar Abad the capital of Pakistani Kashmir.
Every other month, jets would be flying low above us towards Kashmir
We would see tanks being moved.., they was hype of a war. Then nothing.
Basically both sides used nationalism and enmity between the two countries, as distractions to hide their own failures and wrongdoing. Similar to crying wolf.

I have full confidence in the Pakistani Air Force. These people are essentially a knightly order composed of the most elite nobles in Pakistani society.
But I don't have much confidence in the Pakistani Army. Their tactics and organizational methods are no different from those of the Indian Army. Neither of them has adapted to the war course after the Russia-Ukraine war.
I haven't seen the Pakistani Army install protective nets on its tanks, nor have I witnessed the large-scale use of fpv in the recent Pakistani Army exercises. However, in the military exercises in India, I have seen the large-scale use of fpv in India. So this is what I'm worried about

This will be followed by fast and large scale engineering work to construct canals, reservoirs needed to divert a good portion of water flowing in Pakistan.
The choice will be thrown on Pakistan to either start a war or just watch its water been taken away.

Going forward a few years considering the scenario you presented. The dams and canals are built, and India spent major money that infrastructure.
Then comes Imran Khan, and sees Pakistanis suffering without water . He will definitely start a war.
At that time it will hurt India a lot more than Pakistan.
I have little knowledge about geographical rivers, but common sense still tells me that your idea is simply that of a three-year-old child. To divert these three rivers from Kashmir to the industrialized and commercial areas of India, it requires crossing hundreds of kilometers of high mountains and deep valleys. How much money does India plan to spend on building the water diversion channels?
