Any idea which asset(s) hit our jets? Are there any reliable sources stating this?
From AAMs and SAMs to shotguns and rocks. Pick your poison.

unknown men~ unknown men~
Doing unknowing things

Let cut the first phase of air engagement,
So, we are expecting an attack!
If they need 9000 caror to restock ammunition used in operation sindoor, where did all that ammunition land?
If they need 9000 caror to restock ammunition used in operation sindoor, where did all that ammunition land?
They must have fired 9000 caror worth of rockets and artillery on Pakistan?
That's over a billion USD. In that price India could have fired 3 million artillery shells on Pakistan.
About the same as USA fired on Vietnam.
So the question remains, why above 1 billion USD to "restock" artillery fired on Pakistan in just 4 days?
NO. Our armed forces have always had lesser ammo stocks than what we needed for a prolonged war since 1993 and now with 2.5 front war prospects, we need to raise the level of our ammo stockpile. I was serving as a fighter pilot in Indian Navy when our quarterly weapon usage was first reduced to 6 months and then to one year. Just to save ammo and reduce Defense Budget. How can you expect a fighter pilot to maintain his aim if he does not get enough of practice? But now we have precision weapons. so over flying the target to deliver a weapon is not needed but still, the cost of these weapons is much higher. It is not just shells
It is also Missiles and Drones
And it is in anticipation of a Full scale war
Obviously, its not just restock. Indian military procurement is a bureaucratic nightmare that takes 3-4 years to go through. However, under this Emergency Procurement route, they are supposed to order items for the short term. Contract concludes fast. They are taking the easy route to buy everything necessary for the next conflict. If they need 9000 caror to restock ammunition used in operation sindoor, where did all that ammunition land?

I agree. As long as India doesn’t end up buying any fighter jet platform from US, I am happy. They are a total and utter nuisance. The rest of the purchases are either meaningful (few) or are a way to keep US happy.
Agreed, but here the point was performance against a specific vector, missiles vs jets. Could be that HQ9 performed better against jets (comparatively lot slower than brahmos)..
I generally ignore this fellow completely, however, I agree with his PoV on the argument against dependency on US.
I don’t think the above is a reflection on Su-57s. Russia is primarily using them in standoff strike roles, they don’t have a whole lot of them where they can afford to lose them. Given how the Su-30s performed for US, a MKIzed version of Su-57 (with Virupaksha etc) will definitely out match anything that’s flying around us including Chinese 5th gen that Pak will eventually get. I don’t think I have to get into details of myriad of issues with buying the F-35 with respect to systems integrations etc.
Posted this above - I am also curious about this. Unfortunately nothing can be said until there are official sources confirming these and the corresponding details which I don’t think will be out anytime soon!
Even if India shoots down a jet , it will be hard to capture their pilot. They might get back to the other side with help from the over ground terrorist supporters. India needs to set such an example that no one ever dares to even think of being an OGW.Posted this above - I am also curious about this. Why this sudden change of heart janaab. Few days ago you were thumping your chest here that its success for Pakistan for holding India in a drone war as PAF had upper hand . Those drones and RC toys played in Syria and around .I guess nations should stop investing in more and more expensive fighter jets
It's the age of UAV drones .
How Ukraine is fighting Russia is an example
SU 57 on Indian side or J 35 on Pakistan side , cant do better than a swarm drone.
Unless this new threat is successfully countered, buying ever so expensive planes is useless.
Far less money can be invested in building better drones or better defense against drones.
That will give better results than any stealth aircraft.
Yes. That's how opinions work. Multiple aspects and implications of the same thing. This and that. Why this sudden change of heart janaab. It's just a question asked on the basis of information available in public .....In other news . French are confirming the shooting down of at least one Indian Rafale, and are worried about own security based on that.
Have a read. This is from their parliament.
