Missile Test Watch

A test is due tomorrow possibly the glide vehicle, ECIL delivered one RF seeker for LR-AShM in June that can be fitted for this test.
The small area polygon marked near Balasore is the notam for LCA gun & ASR-AAM firing till 25th.
Bad weather ongoing at present so fingers crossed.

what is this dhvani ? another HGV? about that alleged HCM test in august it kinda reminds me of the rumours that we got in 2023 about the LRAShM test which was confirmed in the end of the year report.

It’s a hypersonic cruise missile afaik..However, this warrants the question about the differences between brahmos Mk-II. I could be wrong, not enough information is available (or I couldn’t find it).

This sort of area coverage & timing are usually for a ballistic rocket motor stage use. We see soon what it is about.

cruise missiles are flown waypoint wise, within a certain limited area. Main aim of such is to gather the test data.

The actual vehicle as seen in the leaked pic, had control surfaces both lifting surface & angled stabiliser , basically it is also like the RLV-TD a space plane. Whatever way you wanna fly, the mode is similar. either powered or unpowered glide. For powered you need an engine like scramjet/RDW Engine fitted inside, full launch vehicle still needs to get boosted to higher altitude for this. So next you want a reusable booster preferably.
This booster can be made in many way. For a glide vehicle use you need very high initial acceleration so the lift generation is so high it can make the vehicle travel a long way without losing altitude first & also need light L/D design airframe.
With engine based powered solution, booster only need to provide enough acceleration so scramjet can ignite. So initial acceleration demand can be much less.
For nuke delivery role it needs to be highly optimised. Rest it is up to you to include features as you can develop.
