First of, I hope they fix it and I hope they land in time, even if it means that our attempt will become the second one. This is a new development. Wish the Russians all the best in their efforts to overcome this obstacle and land.

Russia's Luna-25 Faces "Emergency" During Pre-Moon Landing Manoeuvre

An "emergency" was detected on Saturday during a manoeuvre by Russia's Luna-25 probe prior to its Moon landing, Russian space agency Roscosmos said.

Statement by Roscosmos

Today, in accordance with the Luna-25 flight program, at 14:10 an impulse was issued to transfer the station to the pre-landing orbit.

During the operation, an emergency situation occurred on board the automatic station, which did not allow the maneuver to be performed with the specified parameters.

The management team is currently analyzing the situation.

They sent first man,women to space,first space walk,first long term space space station, fist moon sampling mission & return to earth,first landing to the most hostile planet in solar system. They don't need to steal Indian credit. Rather you should ask yourself why isro mission takes Ling to reach moon orbit than counterparts in world .

Timing of Russian launch is a suspect that they did it intentionally in bad taste in my opinion........as for ISRO being late well screw giri from different sources ( foreign as well as domestic ) take time so it's expected.

Omg,you guys are behaving like how Indian women were portrait in Indian serials. Do you really think that Russia has to prove anything over ISRO? Get a life man. You expect every one in this world to sit idle during an Indian space mission?

FYI maven space craft reaches mars ahead of mangalyan,despite we launched it prior to NASA mission. You thinking NASA did reach mars with maven before isro to steal the credit?
 
Oh boy, Shri Somnath will be $hitting bricks on landing day. Of course, we will support them under all circumstances but having the whole world look at you would be immense pressure indeed. God bless C3 and hope it goes well.

Yes Russians dont have to prove anything to India or ISRO that's why they could have launched it at any time but chooses to crash ISRO party.

Your idea has been mine all along, but I think we should question that a bit. The idea that Russia wanted to send a big FU to the west against sanctions by doing it 'first' is beginning to look more plausible. Why would they go ahead with a 50:50 chance otherwise? They didn't want to 'beat India', of course, but they did want to say FU to the west with a symbolic achievement looks plausible to me.

stop behaving like a pakistani , their launched had been delayed for years.
War in ukraine pushed it further as same required parts were banned for export by EU .

They dont need to crash ISRO or any body else's party to gain fame or focus. They have achieved enuf in space they dont need to these petty things. We should focus on our mission instead of acting like narrow minded ppl.

Obviously next west will proclaim India to be a great space super power bigger than russia and tom tom it around the town. Puny minded Indians will start buying this "mera bharath mahan" nonsense from west and delude themselves to depths of absurdity.

Its not pretty hard to understand what their objective is, it will be pretty stupid if we morons to fall for it.

USSR did, not Russia.

Before you dismiss it as a technicality, there's more to it than that. There's a marked decline in Russia's space prowess post the Soviet collapse.

Since then they couldn't get a single interplanetary* mission right. Mars-96, Fobos-Grunt, now Luna-25...all were failures.

*counting the Moon as a separate planetary body eventhough its not a planet.
