Yea big doubt. America has lost 2 or so jets not 20. And they even managed to get helicopters into Iranian territory and rescue 1 pilot.

Some of Hq-9b's missiles have the options of choosing IR tracking over RF tracking in *terminal* phase, if the customer wants it.
The main guidance system on the truck depends on phases array radar, there is no IR ball to detect & track in infrared spectrum.
Most of these kills are by Iran's own Short Range IR sam systems.
The Americans sent helicopters over enemy territory to recover downed pilots during combat time and they all largely returned.

Well stated. The fact that a 'Venezuela' was not pulled off or a 2 week collapse (which was expected) did not happen will be widely broadcast as their greatest feat. The measures of victory for both sides are quite different and the perception by others will similarly be different depending on the POV they take.
