Israel, US Strike Iran After Weeks Of Warning, Explosions Heard In Tehran

All good and dandy, but we have long held a view that IOR belongs to Indian Navy. It is our backyard. Now USN's SSN sneaks into our backyard and sinks Iranian ship. Apart from 'anything goes in war', there is also subtle message that Uncle Sam is sending to us and let me tell you something, that message has reached where it was aimed. We understand its implications and nuances @vstol Jockey

Frankly, I'm just baffled that the ship was unarmed even as war seemed imminent. They just didn't stand a chance.

Besides, this isn't the 1st time the US has played the signaling game. Recall the FONOPS sortie they did a few yrs ago right through our eez?

Iran on Sunday indicated it had chosen Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's son Mojtaba as his successor, after Israel struck fuel depots in Tehran overnight and the conflict widened after Bahrain said an Iranian attack had damaged one of its desalination plants.

"The name of Khamenei will continue," said Ayatollah Hosseinali Eshkevari, a member of the clerical council charged with electing a new leader, in a video published in Iranian media.

"The vote has been cast and will be announced soon," Eshkevari said, without providing further details.

The council's secretary, Hosseini Bushehri, would announce the successor to Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was killed earlier in the conflict - Ahmad Alamolhoda, another cleric, told state media.

US President Donald Trump said on Sunday that Washington should have a say in the selection. "If he doesn't get approval from us he's not going to last long," he told ABC News.

Can any one confirm if the video is true? Are the people in the video speaking Hebrew? The voice i could understand is *ya allah*, Palestinians?

I have doubts. There are cuts and certain jumps in the video. Looks like clips are taken from other videos and joined together to present a whole strike video. There are also frames that look generated or are completely blurry. Take this one with a handful of salt. There can be elements of AI video edits inserted as well as claimed during this interaction on X.

American military personnel filmed a strike by an Iranian drone, presumably an Arash-2, on the US Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait.

I think the US has made the assessment, correctly, that it's best to shift force-multiplier assets like tankers out of reach of Iran. I don't think the US/Israeli air campaign is going to wind down anytime soon, so the fact that this move is being made a week into the war is puzzling.

I don't know if it's tied to the potentially depleting stockpiles of interceptors (which would dramatically raise the threat level to hangered aircraft), or if the destruction/damage to many of the radar nodes in the region has made the defence of some installations challenging.

Lack of close tanker support is going to hurt the sortie rate as well as the potential effectiveness of each sortie at this stage. What's going on?

This so called professor is your common Han con man . You'd meet them a dime a dozen if you were to go to Guangzhou or Shenzhen for product sourcing.

He's based in Canada . I wouldn't be surprised in the least of like most Canadians of Chinese origin he's some connections with the CCP & the MSS .

Canadians of Indian origin will know better of the deep infiltration of the Chinese community there by the CCP.

G7 nations have said they are ready to take "necessary measures" to support the global supply of energy after the US-Israel war with Iran sent oil prices surging.
However, a meeting of G7 finance ministers and the International Energy Agency (IEA) ended without an agreement to release strategic crude reserves.
The oil price reached nearly $120 a barrel on Monday over fears of a lengthy disruption to supplies, leading to global stock markets falling.
At the virtual meeting, the option of releasing oil from stockpiles was one of several discussed as Fatih Birol, head of the IEA, said global oil markets "have deteriorated in recent days".

Can you imagine if the Iranians had even a reasonably-sized functional air force capable of surviving for a week or two? They would have sustained their day 1 barrage for many days instead of tapering out on the same day. Things would have been so much more hairier today.

if U.S will go this far and also ruin itself to stop china, rationality says no
And this is the main thing, china as a society have faced hardship be it the Japanese occupation or cultural revolution, but on the other hand if USA felt little bit of resistance they always have been chickened out, either it's Vietnam or Afghanistan,
And USA won't want it's military capabilities to take big hit or get it's economy crush, and the war Will spread out there's no stopping it, if it's get's started,

Even the current situation the USA doesn't have any clue what to do and the world already starting to see the energy crisis
