Responding to a question on India during his appearance at the Aspen Security Forum meeting here, Kurt Campbell, the White House Asia coordinator, said that in his view India is the most important bilateral relationship for the United States in the 21st century.
This Nehruvian NAM is still etched in our beurocrats minds. Only alliance with West will ensure our proper economic millitary growth to be able to counter China especially now that they are deciding to do businesses only with like minded nations who want to cooperate and not show them eyes like China.India will not be an ally of US, it will be another great power: White House official

China can be beaten back comprehensively by strong hard power and collective defense. Asia, and specially South & South-East Asia is too much fragmented and affected by Chinese manufacturing hard power to mount such an alliance. Europe is never going get its finger burnt for India and we are too much aligned with NAM policies where diplomatic soft power corps wields more influence over hard core power corps, hence India will remain incapable of uniting the regional countries for foreseeable future. We are too prideful to join an military alliance no matter what happens.
