9000HP variant of WAG9HH initial production series has been certified for RDSO for 100kmph operations.

Likely to operate in WDFC and feeder routes to EDFC in Jharkhand and Odisha.
WDAP-5 , a dual mode locomotive, 4500hp Diesel engine or 5500hp electric mode operation has been handed over for testing to a locomotive shed.

A modified WAG 11 (EMD locomotives refurbished as electric ones) was ready to be rolled out and tested.

The first prototype had some critical defects pointed out by RDSO. Work on those has happened. And more and more components of EMD locomotive is tried to be used to bring down costs.

Without the COVID19, it was planned to get RDSO approvals for the new prototype by June end and start production with an initial conversion rate of 10 locomotives a month.

There also are a some certification works to begin by next week for important electrification and Gauge conversion projects.

Sections of NDLS and HWH are planned to be repaired/relaid if things improve in the first two weeks of May, as major blocks won't be required.

But then again lets see how much more is the lockdown extended.
