Indian Missiles and Munitions Discussion

That's a typo wrt engine.
By value, India only makes 54%.
By subcomponent count, it might indeed be much higher at 80% -- but the raw materials all still come from Russia.

That said, we are all generally aligned that we have hit the limits of screwdriver work. The next paradigm shift will only come from the IDDM path. Making the SX blades for KDE is what unlocked it for AL31FP and not the other way around.
Its Rajnath Singh's failure that under him, this screwdrivergiri fraud is happening in the open

The SPEAR system from Elbit.

Mahindra in shambles.

Ever since Israel announced they will use India to build their supply lines, the import lobby went into overdrive in complete cahoots with the RM, MoD and Armed Forces. Perhaps the PM himself. They get the latest tech, and cost benefits of scale through shared production.

The only casualty is Atmanirbharta. But this vision the PM had sold is popular with the people. So how do you implement the new plan?

Well in comes Dhoti manufacturer Kavita Fabrics. Sorry, not just any Dhoti, but synthetic Dhotis. You use them to bring in the Israeli products but keep the Atmanirbharta song and dance going under some Mahabharat sounding whitelabel. And use the EP route to keep things legal! And ensure the (yet to be relased) DAP procedures only widens the loophole.

The game is pretty clear to me.

"No thanks," say the MoD and Armed Forces.

Hi, I have a question, we seems to have 3 different short range SAMs in Akash NG, VL-SRSAM and QRSAM.

I understand the difference in launch platforms and fire control systems, but why are missiles different? Why couldn't we have gone for a common missiles for all three usecases?

This seems to be duplication of work and wastage of money

Why is Mahindra in shambles? Their mortar system is imported as well. Writing all this diarrhoea before basic google search. Twitter dehati.

Major components are still shared or derived from existing technologies i.e. seekers, propulsion, warhead etc. Remaining design decisions are based on requirements by the users. All three of these projects have unique user requirement.
