Iirc, the IAF also had a long running requirement to reverse engineer the Russian origin FAB 500 M62 GP bomb. ARDE failed despite multiple attempts and was even pulled up by CAG.

Now, the IAF seems to be moving on to bombs modeled on the Western Mk82.

The old Betab 500 runway penetration bombs will likely be replaced by Gaurav, etc in due course.

many possible future applications. this is one of the enabling tech pillars. Other tech like multipulse rocket motor, SFDR , hybrid rocket motor, scramjet, PDE etc all are tech enabling pillars. You can scale it up or down and use as building block in a hybrid system as suitable. All types of missiles can be made Surface to air, air to surface, air to air everything. Key idea is this tech allow supersonic flight at lower altitude by using air breathing engine, so the missile need not carry oxidizer with fuel. That means weight save useful for design of good optimised long range missile system that can do cruise flight.

India conducts successful demonstration of Solid Fuel Ducted Ramjet technology
Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) today carried out a successful demonstration of Solid Fuel Ducted Ramjet (SFDR) technology, from the Integrated Test Range at Chandipur off the coast in Odisha. The Ministry of Defence said the demonstration placed India into an elite league of nations possessing this technology. It added that this demonstration will enable the development of long-range air-to-air missiles to give a tactical edge over the adversaries. The Ministry further said that Defence Minister Rajnath Singh complimented DRDO and industry on the successful demonstration of SFDR.

That means Kusha has been tested already?

cant be, maybe m1 and m2 ground tests at most, i dont think theyve announced any flight tests. They usually would especially for a critical but ublic system like this unlike the LRAShM
