Based on the specs, this system looks powerful enough to jam awacs/aew within a certain radius.![]()

Details have emerged about Bharat Electronics Limited's (BEL's) new Ground Based Very-Ultra High Frequency (GBVU) Communication Jammer, with a company spokesperson telling Janes that the system is being delivered to the Indian Air Force (IAF).
The system is not only capable of intercepting, monitoring, and jamming adversarial communication signals in the 30–1,000 MHz frequency range but can also provide the range and bearing of the signal, allowing friendly combat units to lock on to the source, the spokesperson told Janes on 20 January during the 2026 International Electronic Warfare Conference – India, which was held in Bangalore.
BEL displayed a scale model of the jammer at the conference.
Development of the system began in 2010, according to the spokesperson. In June 2023, BEL announced a INR19.84 billion (USD216 million) contract for specialised systems and electronic warfare (EW) platforms, including multiple GBVU Communication Jammer systems.
“Deliveries of the system to the IAF are still in progress,” the spokesperson said, adding that details on the number of units under contract cannot be provided at this time due to confidentiality concerns.
Janes assesses that the mobile system is designed to be deployed along border areas.
System capabilities
A photo of the GBVU Communication Jammer on a BEL placard at the conference showed the system deployed on a 4×4 domestically produced Ashok Leyland Stallion truck. The placard indicates that the jammer has been included within the IAF's Integrated Air Command and Control System (IACCS).
Frankly I haven't ever come across the term Very UHF before. The standard classification is Extremely HF for this freq band.
These ground based jammer are vulnerable to enemy attacks. These must transmit to perform their task.
By the time your aicraft even come near enough to launch their ARMs they will be shot down. Which ARM you have that is beyond 400 km?These ground based jammer are vulnerable to enemy attacks. These must transmit to perform their task.
That is guidance signal for anti radiation missiles, or drones .
Also, The window for Pakistan to engage these targets will be limited to rare occasions, and they cannot afford to allocate sufficient resources to pursue them consistently or at scale to significantly affect the larger picture.By the time your aicraft even come near enough to launch their ARMs they will be shot down. It will be suicide missions like how they sent their piggie pilots against S400 and got them killed lol. Doesn't even have an ARM higher than 200 km but dreaming of doing SEADAlso, The window for Pakistan to engage these targets will be limited to rare occasions, and they cannot afford to allocate sufficient resources to pursue them consistently or at scale to significantly affect the larger picture.

. Idiots. They already struggled against S400, against Kusha with its AESA radar and LPI and ECCM capabilities they stand no chance. What about our north and north-eastern borders with China? Also, The window for Pakistan to engage these targets will be limited to rare occasions, and they cannot afford to allocate sufficient resources to pursue them consistently or at scale to significantly affect the larger picture.
What about our north and north-eastern borders with China?
How would this jammer fare against chinese?
I am assuming army will deploy AD systems ( Akashteer most likely+ IADWS) with each units and depend on numbers and distribution. What do you think? Any tech which won't be vulnerable?
Vulnerable, will need active shielding measures from our side to minimize the threat as much as we can.How would this jammer fare against chinese?

Mobility +decoys(Fake emitters to waste Chinese ARMs/drones.)What do you think? Any tech which won't be vulnerable?
