The way Poland is arming itself, I was expecting the same for the Indian Army after the Galwan clash. Inducting APC, IFV, tanks, gunships, helicopters and missiles in large numbers. But reality can often be disappointing. Sad affairs of our bureucary and import lobby.

We are already established. For example, we bought 464 T-90s before Galwan. But yeah, some things have been disappointing, the govt has given a bit too much importance towards self-reliance than is necessary. Like, the army really needed emergency purchases of both 400 ATHOS and 60 Ka-226T. We would have been operating both today. But we moved really fast in plugging some critical operational gaps, like comm systems and ammunition, even road infrastructure.

The Polish are setting up from almost scratch. The Russians are doing the same.
