India - United States Relations

his guy, along with the MAGA cult is competing really hard to get the much coveted “Delusional Morons” which is thus far held by the Pakistani political and military class! I am impressed! 😂💀
he is not just a MAGA guy, this guy is part of project 2025, where they have laid out elaborate plan for trump presidency even before trump become president. They are just implementing it now. They have goal and they are moving towards it. Its just we have been caught unaware. Its some what better to delink from US rather than get chewed and thrown out.

Remember any time america wants to fight a war, it starts with allegations, then dehumanization and then war begins. This is just first stage.
Next, Trump will say something weird and ludicrous about Australia! 😂

There is more sh** going on .....

We support India in this tariff fiasco, Hopefully the next US government will rectify it

We bent the knee to appease the US and are going to allow substandard untraced US beef into Australia

US starting a war with India looks a bit far fetched. However, given the insanity on display, I would not rule out anything!

It will not be a war, it will be economic assault and covert operations, likely color revolution style.

The interesting part is, experts in that are at odds with Trump, including likes of Soros and his son. For all you know Modi government will get some covert help from those folks.... Politics makes very strange bedfellows.

I am more interested in what the heck is BJP as a political party and BJP govts RA&W & IB doing.
It's not like it's out of the blue for the intelligence community. This kind of covert assault are the things these are formed for.

Need to seriously 100x their budget, so they can not only be best in countering pak on its own but also CIA influence in India.

And beating color revolution is easy. Take this chance to reform the electoral process in a way that leaves little loophole. But the first step is NRC.. since it's basically the registeration of citizenship. But that's where IB & RA&W comes in. One needs to identify and take out operatives and compromised NGOs inside India. Other needs to counter there enablers. That's where CIA excels. They have got their hands deep in every stuff one can think of.

Then there's BJP as political party which has serious gaps in it's communication and safeguard people from agendas and propoganda. Can only hope that theyve been preparing something and it's ready. Cause this has been going for a while now.

Can't always dance to the time of others. Time to influence others. Destabilize CIA+five eye operations elsewhere when they cross red lines as they did in Bangladesh.

Hot soros where it hurts him. His dealings and source of money. I doubt he haven't been doing unethical things.

Can only wait n watch. IB is so closed off.. they don't even have a doctrine on keeping in touch with populace to get better intel and counter influence.

If anything, the current scenario should teach us the importance of 1 thing. Leverage.

Leverage over our partners, leverage over opponents. Leverage over diaspora. Leverage our academicians.

Leverage over partners : What dependence have we created, which we can pull back on which causes pain, without causing us disproportionate pain.

Leverage over opponents : Think of everything short of war.

Leverage over diaspora : Control over narrative, requires co-ordination with opposition parties. Coming down hard over NGOs running in country and sources of income.

Leverage over academia : Funding of universities and academicians abroad. Bringing private individuals who have donated to universities abroad under some act which will help push the Indian narrative.

Leverage also needs to be divided into military, economic, political. Further each classified under short term, medium term and long term.

Till date, we have preferred our opponents to make their moves and then wait and hope that over a period of time it moves in our direction. Passive leverage works where the threat to us in not consequential. Active leverage needs to be studied, grown and implemented.

India has been a reactive nation so far if you look at its actions. If anyone has disagreements about this post, please look at your own neighbourhood. There have been little to no moves to seize the initiative. It has happened due to lack of leverage and lack of long term planning.

Each successive government brings its own set of people and turns over the policies of the past - good or bad. This was happening each time a new PM came in. This time another factor that came into play - Modi lost his majority this time and folks tend to neglect this quite often.

UPSC lot are amongst the most passive lot you'll encounter. 'Chalne do' has been their thing. One can only hope that the babudom will be subjected to at least some reform no matter how slow it is. The same apparatus was there for 5 odd decades.

The progress with respect to babus has been painfully slow. Now, we are on the 'vishwa' friend/ world is full of friends kool aid. What do I even say about this particular one. There exists little to no need for all these things.

They can't be public about it.

For that you need to have your own made in India phone, WhatsApp and made in India DNS

No
Govt might not. But political party can. But it's been not assertive and agressive against political narrative used to destabilize govt n nation.

“Being reactive”, no matter the cost - has been the bane of our existence.. Even now, we see daily something or the other happening in Kashmir - however, till there is an incident that causes huge number of casualties, we won’t act - all this “Sindoor is going on” is nothing but bluster.

A realistic set of policies and guidelines that are both reactive and active are the need of the hour. I hope the government is learning its lessons.

'Lackadaisical' attitude will get you nowhere. It is prevalent across the length and breadth of the administration. Much to the dismay of the members here I must say - To a large extent it can be seen across all governmental organizations. It has become a part of the organizational culture.

It seems certain set of people voicing about this issue on the forum have been right. Japan has hit snags just this morning.

Japan’s top trade negotiator, Ryosei Akazawa, cancelled a planned visit to the United States as there are some points that need to be addressed at a working level before ministerial talks, Kyodo news agency reported on Thursday.

Akazawa initially planned to visit the U.S. on Thursday to craft a written confirmation of the financial details of the $550 billion U.S.-bound investment package, such as the split of returns between the U.S. and Japan.

U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick has also said there would be an announcement this week on Japan’s $550 billion investment.

Washington and Tokyo agreed in July to set a reduced 15% tariff on imports from Japan in exchange for the package of U.S.-bound investment through government-backed loans and guarantees, but details of its contents remain obscure.

That was true even in Biden's tenure. Look at the number of statements issued by NATO the US & Ukraine in the run up to the war & even later
No. If anything, getting Ukraine admitted as a NATO member was Biden-appointee Victoria Nuland's idea. Same lass who architected the BD coup.
You'd have to elaborate .

The EU is picking the tab for Ukraine to buy S100b in US weapons as part of a security guarantee.

They're still executing daring strikes behind Russian lines & the Russians are still stuck in Eastern Ukraine more or less with the same amount of territory they took before the war broke out or immediately after .
I doubt the Russians plan to push further into Ukraine. They have captured the Russian-speaking enclaves and have consolidated their hold on Crimea. Ukraine's strike on Ru strategic bomber bases were aided (perhaps even planned) by the Americans.
