India - United States Relations

Indeed, the surprising thing is how protectionist India is about allowing foreign goods and services, EXCEPT on the critically important topic of military procurements!

But to give credit, things appear to be moving in the right direction.
East India company came to India , started a factory , asked for more concessions and then took over the country. America is nothing but west India company. Indians would be twice born fools to get into perpetual economic slavery after fighting for independence from british.

Indian companies certainly need competition and that should come from countries like japan, korea which dont have any ulterior agenda or motives.

Nope, they want us to open our agri & dairy sector whole sale. This is not some thing new , US has trying to pry open Indian sectors for quite some time , probably some one should remind you of the farmers protest. Orchestrated farmers protest was not anti-modi but anti-India altogether. Any reforms would have created problems for their agri export.

Already excluded from mini trade deal. GM crop and dairy will be negotiated after 9th July and it won't be successful in my opinion, it is the redline.

For you @RationalGuy & @Rajput Lion 1:07 to 1:14
We admitted losses, but not what kind of losses
There is a saying in Hindi that, "घर का जोगी जोगडा, आन गांव का सिद्द" meaning despite having experts at your home, one tends to bring outside expertise, lol.

Do you think ONLY USAF pilots know about X-Guards and not us? Here is what I said to @randomradio on June 4th:

After agri sector , target is financial sector , they want to manage the pension funds which runs into thousands of crores. Lot of easy money to be made there. To know US mentality & attitude just check about the totalization agreement deal that India is trying with US for more than a decade !

For a country which has given away bangladesh on a platter it wouldnt take much time to do the same with ukraine-russia.
This is something new for me. If you don't mind can you share something that talks about this in detail? Or where I can read more about this? Like US's interest in taking over our financial sector.

What a stupid low iq take. Just because you know about x-guard, does that mean no one else can mention it? Where did he say that only he knows about it? It's public information since the ISE details were released.

Unlikely. Maybe over Brazil, but US imports too much from India. As for crushing sanctions on China,

I see some seriousness in this news because he is being pressurized by lot of senator...may not be entirely because of Russia cause but political as well because lot of his supporters are turning against him thinking Trump is not walking on his election promises.. hence prospect of Trump loosing mid term election. Add India pakistan context, him being irked with our relationship with Russia and personally with putin because putin didn't listen to him regarding ending the war...we are not listening to us demand on trade deal...and I think(going by his past actions)Trump is very moody person and trade seems to be very dear to him..so wrt trade deal we are not listening to a moody person on something his favourite...all in all I see lot of divergence of interest in Us india relationship in recent times(for a short term atleast) ...only positive I heard recently was quad's joint condemnation of pahalgam terror attack.

Yea India will never agree to such a bat sh*t arrangement. The Americans was 0% tarrifs AND access to dairy and farming sectors? And in return we get 20% tariffs!??? Lol forget about it, NEVER happening.

In contrast they didnt dare to try this bullying with the Chinese and immediately made a trade deal with them because they knew any funny buisness and their Walmart stores will become totally empty. The economic power of China is very real and very scary, we missed the manufacturing bus and will pay for it now.

Regardless, India should never agree to such a batshit deal from these monkeys. On top of that they threaten tarrifs for "supporting" Russia!!!! If they do such a thing then India must also put 200% tarrifs on American goods and send them scurrying away from our market.

they have started taking actions already

Its more or less a strategy to crack open other markets for their imports. Trump is a car salesman unless you walk away , you wont be taken seriously. But dont have confidence that our govt will push back, bureaucracy & politicians are seriously compromised so some sort of giveaway will take place. India should follow china's example if not they will keep asking for more concessions without us getting any thing in return.

Worse thing about Trump is that he is a vindictive person , he has burned many ppl & countries. Wouldnt be surprised he does the same with India.

You guys are missing the point. I believe India holds a very big leverage. Comparable to China even. i.e. DATA.

India has huge number of internet users and most are pro tech, that means they use western services a lot. From Google to Facebook to AI chat bots. That data is the new oil. To keep the AI running and make it better, they need constant live data.

Now the govt just needs to do two things. Data protection bill making it mandatory to keep Indian data in India and shouldn't go outside India without govt approval.
Tax on advertisement from foreign entity. Voila! The big tech has already mostly been banned from China. Africa doesn't have good user base.
Neither middle east favors them.
So that almost 3/7 of the population.

If they lose India, they lose almost half the world population. They will do zilch in growth then. And that's why you see so much interference from US govt on behalf of The big Tech. They are surveillance tool.

Keep them out and you can show them true power. The problem is the stooges like Rahul and Rajdeep and NGOs who will cry wolf on behalf of big tech.
Just handle them well, and USA will toe the line.

Negotiations for the deal have concluded, with the final draft awaiting Mr. Trump’s approval for more than a week. The pact has received endorsements from key officials on both sides — U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and Trade Representative Jamieson Greer, as well as India’s Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal.
