Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will be on a two-day visit to Australia on October 9 and 10, during which he will meet Australian Deputy PM and Minister for Defence Richard Marles in Sydney and observe live air-to-air refuelling activities aboard a Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) KC-30A multi-role tanker.
The Australian Government is backing the Australian space industry’s development of new technology that will be part of an India-led mission to address environmental challenges and climate change.
Almost $2.7 million will be available to develop an Australian-made payload for inclusion in the Indian Space Research Organisation’s G20 Satellite Mission for Environment and Climate Observation.
The project will have an Australian industry lead with several Australian and Indian partners. It will deepen space collaboration between our two nations, create opportunities in a rapidly expanding global market, and contribute to addressing real world environmental challenges.
This investment builds on $18 million injected by the Australian Government into three collaborative space projects between Australia and India in 2024.
