The better would have been JV with Safran for M88-4. While testing the LCAmk2 and AMCA on RD33. It would have been a much cheaper deal. But any ways.

I dont know, they could have used M88 core with Kaveri while Kabini was throwing blades. That would have got India a working engine for Tejas. Somewhat like volvo RM-14 of Sweden.
