What sort of a term reusable offensive is ? An air defence network is supposed to take counter action, not just send some alert message. This is what network centric warfare is.Hi, I believe I missed the reusable offensive part. I thought it was envisioned as counterattack system, as in Autonomous counter strike with man in the loop system perhaps.
Sudarshan Chakra was more of an analogy, given we have S-400 dubbed as Sudarshan chakra already.
And thanks for that clarification on nomenclature. Makes sense.

it does not explain the part what is specified as something that would go out , deliver and return back to user concept.
For instance they are making some drone mounted ew system currently, I forgot the project name. This would fit the criteria where a swarm of these would go out, neutralise the threat and the drones then return back. This is more of a next gen sort of system. Otherwise very little else does.
What is the context for this if the aim is air defence/defensive role ? Such a concept was conceived as an offensive reusable weapon system to deliver payload and return back.
Plausible but would need Chinese/MSS infiltration into Indian Armed Forces because its an air gapped system meaning it's not connected to any internet ot any network. The only way to hack it is embedd malware in a USB stick and put the stick into one of the computers which is part of the network ie cracking. So MSS would need actual bidding boots on the ground embedded deeply within the Indian Army with access to the computers to achieve this. I think our intelligence is capable of sniffing out such rats. The IACCS leaves itself open to software sabotage , I hope enough redundancies are built in . Pakistanis won't be the problem , the Chinese will be . As everything is connected to it , even a small shutdown of the system will disable most of India's AD system .
It's more of for mobile battlefield formation defense, QRSAM - mobile AD for battlefield, VSHORDS - vechile mounted, DEW- vechile mounted,That's more like an upgradation though. Why the different nomenclature?
I do understand that this is just first test. Basic one, as it's not been tested in simulated battlefield/ contested airspace I assume.
In that case, a USB stick was needed because Iranian systems were air gapped ie not connected to the internet. The Americans, Israelis also have network attack systems like SUTER which is a glorified computer virus capable of spoofing and even taking over admin control of enemy IADS. These are reportedly transmitted via the target radar's tx/rx antenna.Plausible but would need Chinese/MSS infiltration into Indian Armed Forces because its an air gapped system meaning it's not connected to any internet ot any network. That's now Iran was attacked via Stuxnet, the Jews and Americans made a Dutch engineer assisting Iran to insert a USB stick with the malware into one of the Iranian computers controlling the nuclear centrifuge.
Or just pay of someone who is in a large debt. Its easier than you think to infiltrate IA. we are looking at soldiers falling for ISI internet spy networks with female operatives. How difficult is it to get a pendrive in, if they havent already. So MSS would need actual bidding boots on the ground embedded deeply within the Indian Army with access to the computers to achieve this. Tough. Not like facility has open doors waiting for them to enter with no security checks not to mention IB DIA keeping checks on all of those guys. Also Netra AWACS was said to be also coordinating the IACCS assets, they may at most and with great difficulty disrupt some ground based situational awareness systems, how are they gonna hack an AWACS? Unless you think they can bribe the pilots to crash the plane or something.Or just pay of someone who is in a large debt. Crazy. IACCS must be developed to be immune to such attacks. But remember, it's onw thing to use this against Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, its another thing to use it against the likes of India, China, Russia. In that case, a USB stick was needed because Iranian systems were air gapped ie not connected to the internet. They are mocking the DRDO and Indian defense establishment.![]()

Not everything is so confrontational. India already used lasers and other techniques to bring down small Pakistani drones April of this year. They are mocking the DRDO and Indian defense establishment.
It's like a top ranked senior college student who don't like you, congratulating you for passing the entrance exam by just a thin margin.
Dunno how many years DRDO will take it to make it effective enough to thwart the kind of threats it's meant to stop.
Also, this IADWS ( so far) seems more like an outer ring for IACCS or Akashteer. Do we know which system is meant to protect civilian areas nationwide deep inside the territory of India. Is it just kusha? And will there be kusha units safeguarding assets and areas acting as a backup, not integrated into IACCS? Against the threats that leak
It has "laser".Ye for some reason this caught the attention of the Chinese.
Many people don't know the superpowers already did crazy things with lasers back in the day. The Soviets launched a huge satellite which had a whopping 1 MW laser in the 1980s. It was meant to destroy US star wars satellites. The thing was almost successfull but it tilted the wrong way due to some glitch and re entered the atmosphere and burned up lol.It has "laser".
The new sci-fi thing in eyes of public.
Even though its basically emergence of drones that made the lasers with current tech viable operationally, so these operational lasers are nothing ground breaking new tech, ground breaking would be when sci-fi envisioned laser level power density and beam concentration capability for dozens of km comes at the minimum.
That's why you will see that most of the application of advanced technology emerges from military domain then goes to civilian. Many people don't know the superpowers already did crazy things with lasers back in the day. How do they manage to choose a pathetic name at every opportunity?
Big breaking: Anant Shashtra air defence system sheeghra hi aayega to strengthen Army air defence system. Pakistan Air Force pilots to get one more excuse to stay away from indian air space.

I'm just glad it is inching closer to induction. The IA needs to get rid of its outdated SHORAD systems like SA-6 asap. The big one that we don't yet have a replacement for is Tungushka. The SPAAG prog has stalled once again apparently. It doesn't event match the role of QRSAM. अनंत शस्त्र। , anant shastra = infinte weapons..
Should've have taken nomenclature from one of the fort of ancient kingdoms.
Or just name IACCS as Chakravyuh and QRSAM as one formation inside it
What about IAF? They were also supposed to get 3 squadrons of the QRSAM.Anant Suraksha is the IndianArmy’s quick-reaction surface-to-air missile system. Nine units are planned to be produced soon by BEL — equivalent to 36 missiles and 36 radars. The system is intended to protect the Army’s mechanized and armoured formations by neutralizing enemy aerial threats. Its estimated cost is about 30,000 crore.
