Officially, India is constructing 2 SSBNs. And officially both submarine are of same design, same class, and same number of silos. That means 111 meter boomer. But when I was doing some research regarding this, I found an enormous anomaly in this argument.

But when I calculated the length of visible part(using google earth) of submarine, I found a very interesting thing. Untitled1.png

The submarine found to be length of 140 meters. If we add approx 5 meters for non visible part (upto propellers), the total length of submarine is found to be 145 meters.

Surprised to this I contacted my own source, and confronted him with this sat image. It took me 3 hours of sweet talks to get the truth, he said "I can only tell INS Aridhman is indeed 111 meters and not an inch more than that."

If we accept this theory, then what about this submarine which is might be undergoing trials in Vizag. Then question come into mind that this is the 3rd boomer? We all need to ask this question.

Understanding the theory part and extrapolating it.. certain interesting analogies does come in mind

1. INS Arihant was a sure shot 4 silo boomer
2. INS Aridhaman was always talked as 8 Silo boomer with increased length
3. INS Arighat named cropped suddenly and its suppose to be a twin sister of INS Arihant with same 4 silo config

Drawing the analogy of sat pics further with whatever chatter that has been heard from time to time, there is a clear case of 3 boomers full-fledged with us

This basically goes in line with the efforts to cloak Aridhaman completely as non-existent.

Arihant in all probability is undergoing a refit with bigger and more powerful reactor as its the test bed for multiple subsystems.. This new upgrade is in line with SSN plan which is a basically similar size in tonnage with the more powerful reactor.

The last deployment of INS Arihant happened in the Mediterranean, we used our Naval ties with Israel to get perishable items and then return back.

This puts the whole of our SLOCs and considerably means we have done a 3+ month operational deployment of a boomer in one of the busiest channels of ship travel.. This is a GIANT LEAP in our strategic capability.

I have a heard a similar chatter about east side of A&N as well...

Its again in line with
1. Hindu news that Arihant is in repairs .. Its basically a refit not repair..
2. The TOI news that Arihant is back and ready - it shows the existence of a replacement.

2 subs + 1 under refit

@Arpit
Magnificent find.. This basically clears up the air and our adversaries now know what we have is much more than just a capability..

This 3rd boomer theory is questionable.

I've heard 3 names - Arihant, Arigat and Aridhaman

but thought Aridhaman had been renamed Arigat so the confusion ....

Why would INS Arihant go to the Mediterranean ? Unless and this confirms the chatter that I was privy too - that the strategic ties with Israel are certainly beyond what many comprehend it to mean ? From N reactors to miniaturisation of warheads to thermonuclear weapons to exchanging notes on deployment of SSBN's on active deterrence patrols , etc .

After all it's an open secret that we host their submarines on active deterrence patrols in our waters.

Does it mean refit happened there?? INS Arighat launch and INS Arihant refit happened at same time frame also Jane's 360 quoted"Arighat will be succeeded in the dry dock by S4 and S4*." So i thought we have capability to build 2 subs at same time, now its confusing.

A US boomer is very much possible.
A Virginia class?
One can never know level of cooperation we have with USA and Israel. There are many things not in public domain. Now USA can officially use our military specially Naval facility. Must be a friendly visit.

Yep, one can never tell.

The original story was always 2 subs with 4 silos and the bigger subs to follow.
Remember both arihant and the next one were supposed to be exactly similar. At the time of arihant launch 2nd sub was supposed to be in advanced stages of completion anyway so what have they been doing over 9 years?
