Seems those Thales optronic periscope desi version in the making. T0+12 months first proto, then T0+22 months for the lab unit delivered at SIF Kochi. (shore integration facility)

That previous webinar , Prof Debi Prasad Mishra mentioned that in a lot of fields we are followers, not leaders. But in fields like hypersonics & radio comm we might become the leader. I guess the same goes for EW systems.

We've learnt from the masters(Russians/Israelis/French) and refined their systems/techniques with our own. Even our EW pods for MKI and Tejas are inspired by both the Israeli ELTA-8222 and SPA-518. But the end result is much kickass and better than both.
There is a 1000kgf engine fuel storage & supply system testing sow at GTRE, any guess what it could be related to?
So, the ALTAS and NAGAN program are not completely successful. I don't think we even ordered any system.
Another word is failed and DRDO babus closed it says successful. NAGAN is earlier attempt from 90s.
Imagine being unsuccessful twice in 30 years.
