How does it differ from SAP 518? Any idea on performances?

It's high band, so it's a direct replacement for the SAP-518. Plus it uses GaN emitters. And it doesn't compromise the aerodynamics of the aircraft. Since it's fully Indian, upgrades are cheaper and easier.
So it's definitely a massive upgrade.

If This new Jammer has sufficient power against BARS and ELTA 2052 , then we have won all BVR engagements
Is RBE 2 better than ELTA 2052
Are you sure it's high band i think it's mid band.
Asper many forun guys ,With sap518 Russian su30 is almost on par with EA18 Growler, I beleive it's just a propoganda but definitely sap518 makes su30 a capable EW platform. I think with new HBJ,LCA's EW fighting capability will be on par with modern European fighters like Gripen. It's high band, so it's a direct replacement for the SAP-518. Plus it uses GaN emitters. 1-6 ghz is mid band, above that is high band and what about low band. You don't need power for jammers anymore. Even if you do, you need much larger jammers than that, that's where radar-based jamming comes in.
When it comes to hardware, GaAs has almost peaked, so they should be similar. But there's no information to confirm anything.
If either radar is upgraded with GaN, that's when hardware superiority comes in.
It's high band, meant to stop fighter radars, fire control radars and missile seekers.

Not at all. A Growler has multiple types of jammers that covers a lot of bands. And they have very big antennas so they can be used for standoff jamming, outside the range of SAMs. The MKI's new jammer is meant to help the aircraft protect itself inside the range of SAMs, so it's meant for a different role, basically an SPJ.
Not sure if this jammer will be carried by LCA, need official confirmation. But it should be possible to develop one using the tech.
Not sure about the status of older drdo HBJ pod. I think it was escort jammer. What's the difference between them and do we really need escort jammer for every band. Not at all. 2. Afaik these SPJ works in tandem with aircraft RWR since they don't carry their own ESM system. Then what is the meaning of ATRU here.
Yes but what is the need of recieve unit here. These are UWB antenna have freq of 5-18 ghz.As per the Americans, low band is 100MHz to 2GHz, mid band is 2GHz to 6GHz and high band is 6GHz to 18GHz.
Low band covers communications and early warning radars. Mid band covers some types of comm systems and both surveillance and fire control radars, like the MRSAM's S-band radar. High band covers fire control radars, seekers etc. Of course there will be significant overlap between the bands, but that's the gist of it.
Possibly Active Transmit/Receive Unit. DRDO makes up their own nomenclatures, the most famous being FSAPDS, so I wouldn't bother too much about it. It probably works in a different frequency band than the ones at the ends. It's all thanks to GaN that multiple arrays working in multiple bands can be introduced after all.
3.5m, 200Kg is too big for the LCA.
