Solar could be India's Martin Marietta, if this goes through for them. They've already demonstrated their willingness to undertake serious R&D efforts. This'll take them to a new class.

Other than DEW, thought I would ask AI where this would be used:
Nuclear Weapons Stockpile Stewardship & Simulation: Since the banning of underground nuclear testing, superlasers powered by Nd-phosphate glass recreate the extreme temperatures, pressures, and x-ray environments of thermonuclear explosions in a lab setting to verify and maintain nuclear warheads without physical test detonations.
