Dassault Rafale - Updates and Discussion

IAF aircraft can also be upgraded to this standard.
Can we get that in writing from the French gov, at a physical and economically viable cost? Some guy on the internet doesn't cut it
There are major proposed changes, as F5 is the test bed for FCAS or what will replace it, Otherwise FCAS is just a polished F3 Rafale The Rafale was a polished Mirage, Are we still stuck in the 70's?

Yes, you are stuck in the 1970s, but we are not.

The Rafale fighter jet didn't get the same appreciation as the S-400 from the air chief. As he said, the S400 was successful in shooting down all the aircraft; that explains why the Rafale is not an air dominance fighter. It may be good for SEAD and DEAD operations, but I think IAF needs to work with Dassault on this platform to make it more lethal for air-to-air BVR engagement.

After Operation Sindoor, IAF seeks more Rafales
IAF has strongly pitched for a government-to-government deal with France to procure more Rafale fighters under its long-pending project to acquire 114 multi-role fighter aircraft (MRFA), in which the bulk of the jets are supposed to be manufactured domestically with foreign collaboration.

The IAF argument is it would make "much better economic and logistical sense" to go in for more Rafales through a government-to-government deal in the MRFA project. "The deal can be concluded faster than going in for an open global tender,"

Good that IAF wants g2g path for additional rafale procurement. But if @TARGET post is have merits,i fear it has, then why IAF going for more Rafales than EF Typhoon or F15?

I feel that IAF wants to get rid of MIG 29 , Mirage 2000 and Jaguar within 10 years

All non AESA planes have become liabilities or burdens in the Era of Long Range Air to Air Missiles

Op Sindoor was an immense succes because of MKI&Jaguar paired with air to surface missiles . As long as we are not receiving source code from Dassault, we will not be able to do what Jaguar has done or French shouhave an immense variety of weapons which is not the case now.

The second contract of RAFALE M has some better terms and conditions for integration of our weapons

I think we can negotiate better for a larger contract

These things are Not set in stone

Everything changes with time and circumstances

Rafale rally: IAF accelerates push for new fighter jets to boost squadron strength amid China-Pak threat

Rafale rally: IAF accelerates push for new fighter jets to boost squadron strength amid China-Pak threat
Synopsis
The Indian Air Force wants more Rafale fighter jets. They plan to acquire them through a government deal with France. This is part of the MRFA program to get 114 jets. The IAF needs these jets because its fighter squadrons are decreasing. Rafales recently played a key role in Operation Sindoor. More Rafales would also help with logistics and infrastructure.

The IAF’s renewed demand for Rafales follows the recent Operation Sindoor (May 7–10), during which Rafales played a key role in conducting long-range strikes across the Pakistan border.

I had told u after Op Sindoor that IAF will go for more Rafales.

Will France be willing to let us manufacture Scalp in India ? If we want to use them for deep strikes will France be able to manufactures the numbers needed by us ?

And Rudram?
French have realised that in a very heavily contested airspace Rafale has limited weapon options. They are now open to many of the things IAF/IN wanted. Seems better sense has prevailed on DA. SPECTRA requires every config to be retuned and that takes time to ensure electronic stealth. What I foresee is that we may get another 60 odd Su-35s with I777s engine and another 40 modified SU-57 with complete transfer of tech based on how India supported Russia in this useless war with Ukraine which was actually all about destroying Europe. How Stupid? For your information, Russia is looking for Indian manpower thru G2G deal to make up for lost manpower in this war and the number is nearly a million Indian Hindus. They dont want Muslims.

You should send them all the HAL employees. :ROFLMAO:

Will you be able to order them first? France has always produced what it has been ordered to produce; look at what Airbus produces, for example. Obviously, if you order 1,000 Rafales, you won't get them all in six years, but you'll get the first one after three years and the last one after ten years.
