Military contracts are not illegal subsidies wrt Boeing.Yeah, and US is giving illegal subsidies to Boeing, and China is giving illegal subsidies to Comac, and so *censored*ing on.
That's not about international competition though. They stopped them opening a plant in another US state.
Back in September the European aerospace giant (Airbus), which employs 15,000 people in the UK, was on the receiving end when it was found that billions of euros in low interest loans amounted to illegal subsidies.
But one was to stop Boeing setting up other plants and furthering their business. It was a negative impact on them if anything. Low interest loans are direct subsidisation to help the business.Yeah, billions in direct bribes vs. billions in low-interests loans.
Well do it. Macron keeps making threats but I see no action. We will never agree to that Withdrawal Agreement, so why all the extensions, just kick us out.
Boeing was paid to not do something. It's absolutely unprovable that they would have done it without the bribe. It's just a way to launder subsidies by claiming they're not subsidies. But one was to stop Boeing setting up other plants and furthering their business.
The bribes were offered by the state government not the federal government, so it's highly likely that the reason provided is legitimate in the name of keeping jobs in that state. It's really an interstate breach of WTO rules not an international one. It's like Calais paying a firm money to stop them setting up a plant in Nice or something. It breaches WTO rules but Nice is the only victim.Boeing was paid to not do something. It's absolutely unprovable that they would have done it without the bribe. Low-interests loans still have to be repaid, on the other hand. What the US do is worse from the WTO's point of view.

The World Trade Organization has ruled on the long-running complaints over subsidies and found that both the US and the EU have unfairly subsidized their aircraft manufacturers.
So let me get it straight - Trump tweeted & EU promptly extended it till oct31, instead of British request till June. Must be good threatTrump sends ominous warning to EU that 'tough' stances on Brexit and US trade will come 'back to bite you'

So why do the EU keep extending, they're scared of no deal. If we had a tougher government they could have exploited that rather than ruling it out.So let me get it straight - Trump tweeted & EU promptly extended it till oct31, instead of British request till June. Must be good threat
Good thing EU didn't extend it till 2025 BMD would gave been heartbroken, knowing that British parliament would have then sat on it till last month & then claimed no agreeable solution reached & ask for a extension again.
So what is the EU then? Says it is prepared for no deal and says there can be no extension without progress, then extends without progress to prevent no deal.
Going by the tweet & response, it seems more a case of spoiled playground bully & yellow jelly balls in play.So why do the EU keep extending, they're scared of no deal. If we had a tougher government they could have exploited that rather than ruling it out.
The cat doesn't want to enter the EU Parliament in case it gets bummed.
