Union Minister for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Anantkumar Hegde, known for making controversial statements, was at it again in Ballari on Saturday.

Soon after his arrival in the district, a group of Dalit activists blocked his vehicle and shouted slogans against him for his statement about changing the Constitution. They accused him of being anti-Dalit.

Later, speaking at a job fair and skill exhibition, he said: “I am very straightforward person and talk without hesitation.” He added that he was committed to his responsibility as a Minister of developing skills among youth and enabling them to stand on their own and “realising the dreams of Prime Minister Narendra Modi” of transforming the country into “skilled Bharat”. “We will go ahead with our commitment and not bother about barking stray dogs,” he said.

The reference to stray dogs, coming soon after the protests against him, sparked off anger among Dalit groups. After the programme, they staged a demonstration and, waving black scarves, shouted slogans against Mr. Hegde. Some persons were taken into custody by the police when they tried to block the Minister’s convoy.

The Minister did not step out of his vehicle amid the commotion even as BJP MP Sriramulu came out and attempted to pacify the protesters.

He said he is not worried about "barking stray dogs". Why do dalits took upon it on themselves? And even if he was referring those groups as dogs, does that automatically can be extrapolated to all dalit community?

If he wasnt referring to Dalits - then who was he having a jibe at?
Why cant a person that holds a prestigious post like a Union Minister engage his brain and use appropriate terminology when sensitivity is the call of the day?

So called dalit thekedar groups. Just like if in Pakistan someone call one mullah group as stray dog and whole sect get offended.

People are pissed off these groups who start taking gov on ransom every other day.

Sheep follow the loudest. In the sub continent its no different with these groups - be it a mullah or dalit group.
The fact remains politicians ministers should be verbally more gifted so as to not offend.
People may be pissed and have a right to protest. Guess feeling victimised and being able to have a target helps pass the time of day.

Given the gullibility of masses and and urge to self victimize, these "stray dogs" very intelligently use words to work for their propaganda. You will not realize when these groups become beacon of one sect or caste.

For this very reason - the drawback of having fools in a democracy, the politicos must desist from making potentially flammable comments. I agree.

But then since I am not one of the politician, let me say it - Let not the stray dogs interfere in the work of government and hijack the agenda.

For the same reason that.. when Mani Shankar Iyer Spoke about Modi and his politics being "Neech" "Low", Modi and the whole pro-BJP media took it upon themselves. And even if Iyer was referring to Modi as Neech, why did pro-BJP media automatically extrapolated it to all lower castes ? :ROFLMAO:

I never thought "cow urine" can be used so effectively to neutralize Criticism.

You are correct, his "neech" remark was extrapolated to a community. He was very particular in his remark.

No it was not a remark against any community.

Modi falsely accused Mani-Shankar Aiyar of holding secret meeting with Pakistan. This was Modi's attempt polarize Gujarat Elections. So Mani shankar Aiyar replied that Modi indulges in cheap "Neech politics", and he is such due to his conduct.
Gujarat elections: Mani Shankar Aiyar held secret meetings with Pakistan, claims Modi in Palanpur

So Modi played his Lower caste card, to deal double blow. All Pro-BJP Media were busy in promoting the caste angle. I know Mr Iyer, he is very good person.

I think Except for Ravish Kumar of NDTV, reputed paper like "The Hindu", Wire, News Laundry etc... Most of the North Indian mainstream Media is sitting in the lap of BJP, they are part of the so called "Perception Management".

BJP-gang can't fool people for long, people are slowly realizing the truth. Perception Management has failed I'm sure many people have realized the truth..

I said the same, where do you find me claiming he comment on any community?

I can't understand why you come up with Mani Shankar incident to justify twisting of words in this case. I was not supporting then I am not supporting now. I am against hideous politics of killing all logical sense and twist things to suit own propaganda.

Others are countering using the same tactics, this is only going to increase now...

It depends on which side of wall you are in....... From what i see none of the media today is neutral, Everyone has some or other political affiliation.....

You would see BJP or other RW people blaming NDTV and gang for their reporting, but you would hardly see them comlaining about Arnab and gang...

Where as you would hardly see any congress and its supporters complaining about NDTV and gang......

Meanwhile i stopped watching debates in TV's long back.... Check the news report from 2 or 3 channels both in English and Regional language, make your own assessment of the news....... and Enjoy......

I'm neutral, I'm on the side of general public of India... NDTV has slight congress slant, and "The Hindu" has slight left slant but atleast they don't peddle fake propaganda ... and they apologize for their mistakes...

See how all the pro-BJP media(especially Republic Tv) is targeting "Shashi Tharoor"... All the twitter trolls hound him on twitter with the most vicious stuff... Now they are building a General public perception that he Murdered his wife...

If Mr. Tharoor is guilty proof it in court, why conduct a media trial. Are journalists qualified to prosecute anyone... ?

Your comments on media trial and public perception made on Modi - 2002 ? I dont remember The Hindu or NDTV saying a sorry for all that stuff published by them. Court verdicts are all out in open.

You are not neutral bro, at least on this thread.
