What do you want the new govt to do differently? What all the reforms you think are important? How can you increase economic and job growth? Also, how to be better prepared for another conflict?

NOT a political thread, this is irrespective of who comes in power.

2014 started with same wishlist. None was achieved. My wishlist is more realistic

a) No Gaumata lynchings
b) No De-monetization or revolution
c) No Indian science congress papers on how Hanuman went to mars using Vedic spaceship.
d) Full freedom in dealing with pak- do what you want but get it done. That is the only reson you have been re-elected.

To add to point d) give Full Credit to the Armed Forces - Don't take credit

To add to point d) give Full Credit to the Armed Forces - Don't take credit
Armed forces are part of government and the head of government is political head and he is well within his rights to use them as he see fit, both credit and blame goes to decision makers, sooner we make peace with reality less we will feel agitated.

For sake of argument credit is always given to armed forces both by government and by public.

My wish list is simple-
Keep your ears open, listen and act. Arrogance is creeping in this government and if they get full majority again that arrogance is only going to increase.

That's completely incorrect. All credit belongs to the govt in power. Similarly all failure also belongs to the govt in power. The armed forces are merely an arm of the govt.
For reference, please hark back to 1971 and IG's landslide victory which she got for she milked the Bangladesh independence war dry.

Its high time we focused on manufacturing and nurtured hi-tech industries. Given that we will be having continuity in govt , we should go for long term strategy say a 20/25 year plan to become fully self-reliant.

Cut down oil imports and move towards more nuke energy generation.

Yes factually what you say is correct ... but as you can see that isn't put in practice. We have see this in both present and past governments

All i can say is "Be a bit Humble" (wishful thinking)

I agree with humility being paramount when it comes to national security, but then that's rarely seen in democracies.

We have seen what happened with the Vietnam War in the US. The minute they lost public opinion, they lost the war. You can't ensure public discipline with humility because the public is completely ignorant.

Industrial:
  1. 100% thrust on manufacturing (specially high tech) sectors. A big gap since long time.
  2. More encouragement to start ups, small & medium sector industries, as opposed to prevailing big corporate/ conglomerate culture.
  3. More importance to infrastructure development; not for the sack of it like the prevailing practice, but with a emphasis to coming 25 years. E.g., when constructing highways or port, try to envisage the traffic load in coming 25-30 years. Also scientific road designs.
  4. Gadkari: River linking & water transport please.
Social:
  1. Start the process of abolishment of cast system
  2. Start the process for uniform civil law.
  3. Segregate religion from politics.
  4. Brainstorm for ways to clear all judicial backlogs and ways for faster judicial services.
  5. Encourage multi-party participation in important matters.
  6. Bring in a strong anti-treason law to enable loooong imprisonment of any citizen, who has the audacity say "India Murdabaad" or similar and/ or hails any foreign country. (If you know what I mean!)
  7. Strong action against all mob-justice.
Defence:
  1. Brainstorm ways to faster acquisition.
  2. Private sector participation (Already started in few areas, but needs more encouragement including R&D).
  3. Decisive, firm & ruthless actions for permanent solution to Kashmir/ maoists and any other secessionist movements.
Foreign Relation:
  1. Improve relation with China by decisive action regarding the border disputes, thereby alienating you know who.
  2. Decisively go back to non-alignment (Only good thing done by Nehru), case in point current predicament between USA & Iran.
  3. Improve infra with far ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) & Bangladesh, thereby paving way for development of the till now neglected north-east India.
  4. Begin dialog with Bangladesh to make them accept most of the illegal migrants in North-east & Bengal. If required, I am ready to give away some piece of territory to them to achieve this goal. Very important for north east.
If I keep typing, many more will come to mind. So, for now, this is my tiny wish list....

1. Abolishment of RTE
2. Freeing of temples from Govt. control.
3. Much tighter leash on dubious NGOs and their foreign funding.
4. Stopping of conversion.
5. Strict implementation of law wrt terrorism related activities all over country.
6. Doubling down on Make in India especially in defence
7. Related to MII, again doubling down on indigenisation in critical techs.
8. Abolishment of Article 370
9. Uniform civil code
10. Bhavya Ram Mandir (Thanks for reminding @Parul )
11. Continous push to road, rail and port infra

Y'll missed something very important. The rate at which the water table and forest cover is depleting, and the exponential degradation in air quality, not even a million Ram Mandirs would save your sorry arses. NDA as been completely apathetic towards the environment. Stuff like interlinking rivers is bullshit and ecologically disastrous. Their so called Hindu agenda simply fails to promote peaceful coexistence with nature.

1. We need to stop taking in garbage and trash from other countries - else develop ways to use modern technology for waste disposal. Ex. Alang shipyards - do take a trip there and you will find no difference between men and wild boars.
2. Birth control - hum do, humare max teen. (although I believe modernization is stabilizing population growth rate)
3. Strong environmental laws - Ex. Vapi-Valsad is a toxic hell. UPA had shut many industries for not complying with waste management. Come NDA, they were all up and running.
4. Minimum graduate qualification for parliamentarians and lawmakers. (Dont want anpadhs and yale graduates taking decisions)
5. Thorium reliant energy grid
6. Complete online portal to view tenders, proposals, contracts and other stuff related to public works and infra.
7. Tough policies on water management, not BS proposals like interlinking rivers. Ex Take cues from Rajendra Singh aka the Waterman in Rajasthan (i believe water management will directly benefit farmers and reduce the rate of suicides)
8. A permanent ban on people not giving press conferences and conducting nonsensical, scripted interviews on mangoes, radars, cloud cover, chaai etc

Hindu agenda actually promotes peaceful co existence with the environment. This government is more Hindutva than Hindu. At least it claims that and hopefully you understand the difference. Valid points otherwise. I concur.

Point 2 is a natural progression. Point 5 WiP. Point 8 is voluntary. Not a constitutional requirement.Especially not in the age of a paid media whichever angle you see it thru.Agree with the rest of your points

The efforts you put in to save your race will be lost to ecological disasters. Ecological/environmental disasters probably claim 1000x more lives than all our trivial communal issues put together.

Point 8 is voluntary

A strong leader must show some grit to answer the tough stuff thrown at him. Elected leaders are answerable to questions posed by the common man. Post the press conference, it became evident who's the ringmaster within the BJP ranks. No one gives a damn about how mangoes are to be eaten and what not.

I would add the encouragement of organic farming on a large scale - but politicians hold major stakes in big fertilizer/chemical companies. So i dont think thats going to go down smoothly.
And of course the last one, electric vehicle infrastructure in all major cities.
