India-Bangladesh relations.

Explicitly mentions it.
Naah what I meant that he missed Indian concerns are not without merit. He brushes them off as media concocted stories like many other which are.

You took the words of my mouth. Writer has used some wrongly written Indian articles as example for even valid concern India has. That's key point here. I just went through cursory glance hence could pickup that much only. Political angle is much more sinister now I realise.

"The signing ceremony was chaired by the Hon'ble Secretary (Railway) Mohd. Salim Reza," Indian High Commission said in a series of tweets.

Meanwhile, India and Bangladesh have been intensely banking on their healthy bilateral relationship in the development of mutual trade and commerce. Earlier in the month, India had also helped Dhaka by providing two mobile medical oxygen plants to support the country's fight against COVID-19.

India-Bangladesh railway line likely to be completed by next year; details here

India-Bangladesh Railway Line: The much-awaited Agartala-Akhaura rail line, which is 15.6 kilometres long, connecting the Northeast region of India with Bangladesh, is likely to be completed by September-end of 2022. To review the work underway for the project, which was taken up in the year 2013 after the two countries inked a memorandum, Northeast Frontier Railways’ Divisional Manager, J S Lakra visited Nischintapur yard on Friday. The Divisional Manager said that goods will be shipped from one nation to another via the network, and later, the service can also be availed by people to travel. The railway project will link Gangasagar under the Akhaura sub-division of the Brahmanbaria district of the neighbouring country with Nischintapur in India, and from there to the Agartala railway station, a PTI report said.

Nischintapur in India has a transshipment yard. It is the first one in the country’s northeastern part, and the passengers coming from the neighbouring country, Bangladesh would be de-boarded there. Also, the incoming goods will be offloaded at Nischintapur. The railway project work on the Indian side is almost complete. On the Bangladesh side, construction of the rail project has resumed after a long gap due to Covid induced lockdown, an official of IRCON International Limited was quoted saying in the report.

According to the IRCON official, the Ministry of Development of the North Eastern Region (DoNER) is bearing the cost for track laying over 5.46 kilometres distance on the Indian side, while the expenses of setting up the 10.6 kilometre long rail stretch in the neighbouring nation are being borne by the Ministry of External Affairs, the official further stated. Once the railway link is completed, both cost and time would be saved in ferrying goods. Also, heavy machinery between the northeast region and abroad using Bangladesh’s railway network as well as ports as stakeholders would not need not travel via Kolkata anymore, the official added.

Bangladesh's nod awaited for 24x7 exim trade through Petropole land border

The 24x7 export and import trade between India and Bangladesh to eliminate delay in consignments through Petrapole land border is awaiting the neighbouring country's notification to keep their border gate open round the clock, an official said.

The detention period for trucks at the border has crossed more than 40 days and has reached 55 days, trade bodies said. FICCI has also flagged the long detention issue with Union Commerce secretary BVR Subrahmanyam.

The Government of India had issued an order on October 25 that the Petrapole-Benapole border to be operational 24x7 on a trial basis for three months.

"We had held a meeting with the stakeholders and the Bangladeshi government. We are completely ready in our end to begin 24x7 operation from our side and awaiting notification from the Benapole border from the Bangladeshi side," Petrapole land port manager Kamlesh Saini told PTI.

Indian exporters at the India-Bangladesh border have expressed discontent over the long waiting period of trucks carrying consignments to Bangladesh, at Petrapole and Ghojadanga land borders, apprehending disruption of shipments.

With sudden increase in imports of soya from Bangladesh, the congestion on the Indian side has increased leading to slow exports. FICCI said the space available for warehousing at the border on the India side meant for carrying out export to Bangladesh has reduced significantly and hence has reduced the number of export units per day from 500 units to currently 300 units (goods truck + auto chassis) per day.

It further said the queue time at Kalitala parking has increased from 15 days to 40 days resulting in an increase in the per day per truck amount payable to Kalitala Municipality. The delay has pushed the detention cost of each truck or chassis from Rs 5,100 to Rs 13,200 resulting in inventory carrying costs and loss of exports to Bangladesh.

Exporters in the past also flagged that Kalitala parking is one of the perennial problems for slow exports including slow customs clearances.

Petrapole in North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal is the largest land trade border with Bangladesh with a total trade of over Rs 20,000 crore.

I don't think anyone of you have been to Bangladesh. The amount of hatred the ordinary man has for India & Indians has to be seen to be believed. The only difference between these scum & Pakistan is that the latter is openly hostile minus a huge fifth column present within our Territory unlike Bangladesh mostly with the blessings of successful governments in Assam & WB right from Independence onwards.

Successive governments in Bangladesh including the incumbent one have flatly refused to even acknowledge the problem. In the coming years , given the adverse population growth of the peacefuls in both these states beginning with Assam , the aging of Shaikh Haseena , the fact that she's in power because she has enabled an economic boom thus successfully keeping the lid on dissent , the undue reliance on only garments instead of a more broad based basket of products to further this boom , the harsh repression the Awami League has indulged in , anti incumbency , no clear succession plan & uncertainty if Shaikh Haseena's successors will be able to continue in the same vein or even handle the challenging situation as she did , growing radicalization in Bangladesh & spillover effect in India will towards the end of this decade result in the perfect storm.

We have upto the end of this decade to handle Pakistan & China before we begin to factor in Bangladesh. How will we manage this is anyone's guess.

Meanwhile , the growth in the budget & procurement of new weapons though ostensibly aimed at Burma is actually to check India. Neither Bangladesh nor India is under any illusions about this. As far as China damming the Brahmaputra goes , the Bangladeshis are shrewd enough to realise that there isn't squat they can do to China. Instead they would be relying on India to counter the Chinese firing their proverbial guns from our shoulders. Any notion the Bangladeshis would be employing Rafales to counter the Chinese ought to be laughed at & filed away for a gloomy day for further laughs.
