Yes and you can say that most of our ice on planet Earth is melting,resulting in rising sea levels.we are in trouble but powerful leaders around the world are doing nothing to solve crisis.we will all die due to heat wave if this continues.This year has been particularly interesting since I've had to experience both a heat wave and polar vortex

You are right, climate change is very real and too little is being done to combat or reverse the effects. The rate its going, global warming will probably be the greatest geopolitical issue of the century.
If the US and Europe are struggling with "mass" migration now, wait til there are 10s of millions of climate refugees flooding in every month.

It's a bizarre heat wave, this is nowhere near normal for Western Europe. The crazy thing is that Spain was colder than the UK, France, Belgium and Netherlands, which is like India being colder than Russia.
The gases that caused damage to ozone layer is banned but the damage has already done.few months ago,same gas was originating from a place in china.problem is we can stop gases but we can't stop glaciers from melting.rising sea levels pose threat to population as well.tsunami like events will be disastrous.also hot temperature means no survival.
The Western World "should" have done a lot differently over the centuries (or maybe "shouldn't have done in the first place" ). Don't count on Western governments/corporations to assume moral or financial responsibility voluntarily.
Unless we wish to live in a world of constant climate disaster and human suffering, citizens like us need to push for greater accountability everywhere. A good start would be to increase accessibility of renewables and eco-friendly technologies while disincentivizing carbon emitting and non-biodegradable/recyclable products. But much more needs to be done, it will not be easy.
Yeah, but the Western world was the first to make that progress and the dangers were unknown at the time of say The Industrial Revolution.
I understand, it was a different time. However, today we are more knowledgeable and we know how disastrous the future will be at the current rate of climate change.
Now isn't the time to be pointing fingers, it is in the best interest of every nation, every person to get this right. This has to be a global effort.
Frankly, your nation's record on it thanks to your incumbent President isn't anything to write home about. China's taking the lead here in implementing and adhering to the Kyoto Protocol. I & none of us here would've believed it, a decade ago. That's both a testimony to how far China's arrived at the world's stage and how far the US has regressed.
The important part that nobody will ever agree to though is population control. Every time we reduce the per capita emissions, population surges wipe out the improvements. The population is now so high that farming livestock emissions has even become a problem simply because people keep breeding uncontrollably.
I agree that our nation should be doing more, but until the 2020 elections climate will remain a states issue. I do think that the US is making decent progress however.
The US also had the highest overall decline in carbon dioxide emissions of any nation in the world (in absolute terms anyway).

We still need to be vigilant though, as emissions rose in 2018.
Population control comes naturally with economic development and higher levels of education. The places experiencing the greatest amount of population growth are also the ones who lack the central planning capability to control it.
The focus should be on uplifting the poor masses of the world in a sustainable way. Cutting back on livestock for lab grown alternatives or plant based alternatives is something that can be achieved and is starting to gain traction.
