Indian Hypersonic Propulsion Developments

1000+ km range with 1.8 tonnes weight is great.
Brahmos can only able to do 800km with 2.5 tonnes.

But i have a doubt, why it switches to ramjet in last stage ?
For lower altitude flight if it's attacking ships. Mach 3-4 at sea level is probably harder to intercept than Mach 6-8 coming in from high altitude.
Is the korean thermal barrier coating and high heat sustaining materials not good enough for cruising at hypersonic speed at low altitude ?
I'm unaware of any thermal barrier coating that is, or any current weapon or proposed weapon that sustains a hypersonic cruise at sea level. Zircon cruises at 28km from what I've read, not sure it even has a low altitude mode.
And why two stage rocket motor ?
Presumably allows it to be smaller overall. Shedding stages is more efficient for any launch. The first stage appears to be the short section behind the rear fins.
I doubt that it even use scramjet, most probably the second rocket motor is for sustained hypersonic speed while 3rd stage which is ramjet is for supersonic speed.
Well reports seem to disagree with this.
but then how its able to travel 1000+ km with just 1.8 tonnes as specific impulse of rocket motor is very low.
Because it uses a two stage rocket motor for launch instead of a single stage one.:)
And it looks like currently only Russia and China possesses "true hypersonic cruise missile".
Well the Zircon cruises at only M5.5, this one cruises at M6.2 and this one talks of M6 cruise at 23km altitude.

Very little is known of any Chinese hypersonic cruise missile tests, so difficult to say.

But rocket fuel has very bad specific impulse, one can even make a rocket fuel powered hypersonic cruise missile (infact indian LRAShM HGV is kind of hybrid of HGV and rocket cruising in end phase most probably).

You're not understanding what I'm saying. Any hypersonic missile needs a rocket booster to get it to altitude and scramjet crusing speed and a 2-stage rocket is more efficient at that than a single stage. The Hycore has a scramjet after the 2-stage rocket booster. Stage 1 (black) is behind the rear fins, stage 2 (white) is form rear fins to behind front fins, stage 3 (orange) is the scramjet (nose to centre fins).

Ohh, now i got it.

It's like using 2 rocket booster in place of 1 and not replacing the scramjet part with rocket booster.

Actually It's quite good, but may be make it little complex and costly, but i guess it doesn't matter if it can sink/unoperational 1 billion usd ship with 2 hits.

Its too blackpilling even for the most Whitepiller to see the surroundings and the Manufacturing standards. You aren't go too far like this. Even countries that are just building their MIC are looking superclean and organized.
maybe this is just a prototype? The final version most probably won't be looking like this.

TPS products for dhvani missile, also as per Dr Anil Kumar associate director ASL, we may soon test the dhvani missile in the upcoming months,

The outermost layer of the dhvani missile is comprised of C-SiC tiles for stealth & High temperature resistance,

Anybody has the source of this image IIRC it was from a YT video but that was later removed

he is taking about the environment of the Lab .
So they basically want a brahmos class weapon but with better launch to hit time. That's pretty nice.
What would be even the HSTDV be used on . Like what can be the possible targets for this huge and expensive missile that cant be fulfilled by things like a SRBM with a bigger and better payload???

THE HSTDV is a test vehicle....... its in the name, but assuming your asking what use a missile derived from it could have, it hypersonic maneuvering for high value payloads(mostly nuclear in this case).

The LRAShM is the same wave glider but for anti ship roles and with a flat trajectory.

An SRBM still follows a predictable path and is vastly easier to intercept compared to a HGV(although this also depends on the speed of the HGV during re entry.

Dhavani would be the the one carried in agni-Vs or what not, frankly we do not know as strategic weapons development is highly classified and things change and what might be in development on paper might alr be in a rudimentry form of active service.

My bad , i meant the ET-LDHM (i hope im not wrong) . Basically the missile which will have the scramjets yall are working on .
India seems to have quite a lot of missile to do the job so developing a very expensive and complex one is intresting .

A powered missile can fly lower in the atmosphere with superior survival rate. Unlike Pakistan where any old missile would do, it would take some work to get through a dedicated multilayer missile defense system the kind China can deploy on land or at sea. Even if Pakistan can buy and deploy such a system or a part of it, it would be fairly limited and expensive.
