Anomaly in PSLV detected and resolved: Jitendra Singh
Union Minister Jitendra Singh announces resolution of PSLV anomaly, emphasising learning from setbacks and future ISRO launches.www.thehindu.com
Union Minister of State for Science and Technology Jitendra Singh on Saturday said that the anomaly in the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) has been resolved.
“The report has come out and the anomaly has been detected. However we cannot share that (reason for the anomaly) on a public platform. But experts are working on it, which has been resolved and very soon we will be back on the track,” Dr. Singh said replying to a query by The Hindu.
ISRO Chairman V. Narayanan said that ISRO’s next launch, which would be the first one since the PSLV failure in January, would take place next month.
“We are building the rocket and may be within a month we will launch. The first launch will be a Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV) mission and subsequently we will launch the PSLV,” Mr. Narayanan told The Hindu.
I am guessing because of this:What does he mean by public platform here? Is it Media like The Hindu or Public domain?
Dr. Singh said on the sidelines of the Research, Industry, Start-up and Entrepreneurship (RISE) Conclave 2026 in Bengaluru, that the national level expert committee constituted to review the reason for anomaly in PSLV Vehicle has submitted its report and the anomaly has been detected.
Jitendra is no leader. He claims credit for successes and vanishes when failures occur. The old ISRO had the courage to publish its failure reports. I foresee the proud legacy of ISRO continue to tarnish under his leadership while he hides behind natsec. Fortunately, India's private space sector stands ready to take the best from ISRO and take the lead."The report has come out and the anomaly has been detected. Your confidence doesnt matter. ISRO is decades ahead of the private sector and the leadership of a single minister is not enough to bridge that gap.Jitendra is no leader. My vote of no confidence.
Not for long, considering its talent is leaving the organisation to found/join a startup, which is actually a good thing in the long run.ISRO is decades ahead of the private sector
ISRO has 1000s of people but because 100 ppl or so have left, we will have private sector surpass ISRO soon? Not for long, considering its talent is leaving the organisation to found/join a startup, which is actually a good thing in the long run.
So instead of finding out why these scientists are leaving and correcting these issues, they would rather keep them against their will and force them to work uninterested? That sure seems a bit dictatorial and CCP style of governance.
It depends on the culture & mentality of the company. Some companies hire 20% smartest ppl and rest are just space fillers doing normal work. The moment 20% best ppl technically or culturally leave the company , company starts to slide into a state of decay. So when these companies lose ppl, it is like rats jumping a sinking ship , they know that things are not going to get better.ISRO has 1000s of people but because 100 ppl or so have left, we will have private sector surpass ISRO soon?
Idt thats how aerospace and rocket science works. As I said, let's wait and see how long private sector takes to each even the level of PSLV. They haven't even launched SSLV type rocket yet. Forget about LVM3 and GSLV Mk1 type.
Agreed, talent should go where they get opportunity. Earlier ISRO was only the place they could build rockets. Now if there are other places which provides that opportunity then they should move there. It creates a bigger ecosystem as the talent & knowledge gets spread around. This will give country and govt more choices in future. Not for long, considering its talent is leaving the organisation to found/join a startup, which is actually a good thing in the long run.
we still live in license raj where govt thinks they can control innovation or R&D based on their whims and fancies. Instead of finding the root cause and fixing it ,govt is arrogantly exercising their absolute Kafkaesque powers. This is not leadership in action but bunch of gorillas showcasing their bureaucratic might. So instead of finding out why these scientists are leaving and correcting these issues, they would rather keep them against their will and force them to work uninterested? That sure seems a bit dictatorial and CCP style of governance.
