This looks really spacious inside compared to our older submarines.
It's a big submarine + very efficient layout & a very high level of automation. You can see the build quality, a masterpiece of Japanese engineering. It's probably the most advance SSK currently in service anywhere in the world.

Japan is great, I wish we collaborated more with them when it comes to defence.

the thing is we cant unless they change their laws which to their credit they are doing right now but its not a one step process. India would love to collab with japan as we alr have very significant economic collabs but their laws are fked regarding military stuff

Would love if we co design our next gen navy equipments, so of their advanced materials science and precision tooling and maybe work on engines also.

Are we developing non magnetic hulls ? As germany wont export it to india.

Btw, what other downgrades (different features) we are getting as compared to german type 212cd ??

I know abot only these:
1) no non magnetic hull
2) no sam system
3) no spyder att

And is there any downgrade in sensors, sonars ??

Non magnetic hull which Germany uses won't be of use to us. The difference in the usual operation depth of current Type 212s in Germany and the Type 209s in our Navy is ~100 meters.

Remaining steps are CCS and then actual signing right? Do we expect CCS clearance in June?
