I think you just described what Iran did. It's military was destroyed, so it attempted to play blockade politics with the world's largest navy. It was Iran that moved to blockades first remember? They thought that everyone would just bow down and meet their demands, but instead they got their entire country blockaded and everyone else just carried on.

Another thing to note is that American bunker busters may be ineffective against Iranian tunnel engineering underneath the mountains. Enriched Uranium is still present in Iran even as per American sources.
Iran can still control Hormuz putting the entire world in energy crisis particularly Asia and Europe. Houthis will try to block the red sea if not already.
American Blockade is a good move but it is probably the only option available to the USA considering everything failed so far.

Actually the US told them to stay off the streets during the bombing, some have been launching attacks now though. There's no protesting any more, they saw what that gets them, now they just shoot IRGC.
Unclear but blockade pressure will resolve that, and until them they're buried and out of reach.
