LCA AF Mk2 (Medium Weight Fighter) - News and discussions

I thought the ground tests were going on rn before final assembly which should happen by early next year no? Or is this all speculation?
I have little knowledge on this part, so it is hard to determine, esp as timeline continue to get affected by various enforced issues. So someday we will suddenly hear the taxi trial has started then we will get an idea how much more time before ff.

These photos and items are really cool, we have come a long way indeed when we are able to manufacture all these components on our own.

We just need to focus on the su-57 if any new tech has to be procured. The answer to all our problems lie in Tejas mk1a and kaveri. We need to order atleast 500-1000 of Tejas. No country will share deep tech of their hardware.
AMCA's definitive engine would also be used on LCA MK2 variant. So we definitely need 500 such jets at bare minimum. As long as Tejas series is dependent on Murican engine, we need to tread carefully. That is why buying more Rafales is such a smart and good decision.

To induct new JV engine timeline is T +11 years.

I think if F414 deal is not signed before Rafale deal, then Safran JV engine deal will most likely include Mk2 engine failsafe .

Remember what I told you guys about we coverting working with the French to design an M-88 derivative for MK2 as a fallback option. This is pretty much still on the table. Final go ahead will depend upon F414 deal.

But MK2 specifically designed around GE-414 engine. So changing engine at this point will require major modification in airframe & that will cause further delays. Doesn't look like a right option at present. Do you have any kind of solid info or just a speculation ?
