Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari has agreed to appoint Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir as the country’s first Chief of Defense Forces (CDF) for five years. The President approved Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s recommendation to give Munir both roles i.e. Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defense Forces (CDF). This was confirmed in a post from the Pakistan President’s official X account.
The announcement comes after days of speculation about whether Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif would give more authority to Munir. The government was expected to announce the CDF appointment on November 29, the same day Munir’s original three-year term as army chief ended.
The position of Chief of Defense Forces (CDF) was created last month through the 27th Amendment to Pakistan’s Constitution. The purpose of this new role is to bring all military branches under a single command.
The Pakistan President also approved a two-year extension for Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar Sidhu. His extended term will begin on March 19, 2026.
President Asif Ali Zardari sent his good wishes to both senior officers of the Pakistan Armed Forces.

As I continue to amuse myself and become a Pak expert in the process, my belief becomes stronger that certain cultures need white overlords to prosper.
The Pak Musalman being the prime example. Absolutely no capability to self govern, no willingness to learn, no desire to improve. Just a primal urge to beg, kill or steal (not in any particular order).

Pakistan's is going to struggle with power insecurity for a while. While surging demand will address a little of the underutilization problem, as these plants age their capacity will decrease. With the mountain of under recovery and the one sided contracts the other payment clauses in the contracts will kick in and the sector could see a potential implosion.
The only silver lining is that thanks to the dumping of cheap Chinese panels there has been an explosion in the use of domestic use of solar panels. Pak consumers are adopting solar like there is no tomorrow - perversely this is also contributing to capacity underutilization further hurting the power companies.

You forget one thing. While the consumer pays high prices there, the fauji foundation gets it back from China and USA via IMF, WB and ADB.
Its an ingenious system. Fauji foundation doesn't have any responsibility since it's foreign "contracts", gets praise to get "approval" for fund and aid. Use funds to invest in america and China via weapons and CPEC like more contracts etc , rest distributed to all the proxies.

That money is siphoned off using fronts. Contracts are taken by fronts and the money skimmed and moved into offshore accounts with poor quality/incomplete or no work done.
They did that in CPEC too. In a single power plant almost 35% of the budget was skimmed off (no work done). The remaining 65% has its own story (overbilling, work not to spec etc).
Um.. if the conditions really mattered to IMF like a girl on first date... IMF would not be having the 20th?25th? Date with fauji foundation.
As for the siphon off part.. that's included in their investment. After all the money rests in some land or bank somewhere outside pak.
