Brahmos Supersonic Cruise Missile : News, Updates and Discussions

Different dimension fitment maybe. Brahmos is 600mm dia all along. The test vehicle of the HCM will likely use A5 booster stage. Actual missile will be quite large like the LRAShM like almost 1.5m dia booster with a slimmer CV on top hence 1500km or more range.
So basically a smaller scramjet cruise missile, using brahmos as a base.

Good for air launch, ship launched and sub launch.

i meant Dual packing in a VLS cell but tbh i dont think its worth it to put that much money to modify a VLS for it and then only get 290 KM out of the range.
Absurd question. how the hell you dual pack cruise missiles in a cell made for one. Range is just one parameter to judge a missile. You need to improve your questions and understanding.

which is why i asked if the UVLM could be modified to it 2 of these.
Range is indeed only 1 parameter to judge a missile but when you alr have a missile that does 800 km(will probably be improved beyond that) it hardly makes sense to expensively modify anything(if even possible) when you get significantly lesser range out of it.
My question wasnt particularly phrased well but it was a rhetorical question in part because the practical answer was always no.

Not everything is serious lol.

its a stupid question shows lack of common sense. Go back to twitter.

If the next generation of ALCMs do get a ranges the likes of 500kms, strikes like these will pretty much become the norm. It will allow the strike packages to be deep within the AD bubbles.

Note: Ignore the heat map, It had been generated a while ago while looking at opportunities of conducting strikes from multiple areas.

If the LRLACM is taken into consideration, the dynamics would further change. However, I do not know the status of its air launched version.

India is set to witness a major milestone in indigenous defence production on October 18, when the first batch of BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles manufactured at the newly inaugurated Lucknow facility will be handed over. The Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath are scheduled to lead the flagoff ceremony.

Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh: On the flag-off of the first batch of BrahMos missiles, Deputy Chief Engineer, DRDO, SN Singh, says, "This missile is very fast and highly accurate. It travels at more than three times the speed of sound, and its greatest strength is its precision. It hits its target with exceptional accuracy, which is why there is global interest in it. The Defence Minister has called it a great achievement for both the state and the country. It is a moment of pride for all of us. Undoubtedly, the BrahMos missile will pave the way for a self-reliant India."

Is this a new thing?
Wasn't its top speed already mentioned at mach 2.8-3.2 during cruise phase.
